    Looking back and thinking about the various comics that have been written during these last few years, one can't help but notice that most, if not all, runs have been either mediocre or subpar. Of course, there are some hidden gems, a superb issue or a great mini-series, but none of this detracts from the following fact;

Transformers-comics track record has been awful lately. I highly doubt we will see an improvement in the foreseeable future.

    P.S. I love you all.

To be fair I think the same thing could be said for comics as a whole for awhile, until the issues plaguing them are dealt with. Though unfortunately I don't see that happening until finances become an annoying enough issue for these companies. I've joked before but I swear to god it's almost like they're afraid of making money or something.

Though there will be people who continue to buy them, either out of a mindless addiction to consuming product or tricking themselves into thinking they're getting a better product than they actually are.

Fair warning, I suspect that consoomers + IDW fanatics are soon going to turn this thread into a shit-show.

IDW1 wasn’t perfect by any means but the ratio of good issues to bad issues were far higher than IDW2 comparatively.

Galaxies would just be a regular quality mini-series in IDW1, nothing amazingly good or bad. But it’s still far better than the main IDW2 line which is amazingly bad for a mainline Transformers comic. I just don’t care for the characters or plot at all despite them being familiar characters I’ve known and love for thirty years.

The quicker the mainline is handed over to another writer the better. Ruckley should have just had a mini-series of an existing line. Not be put in charge of defining an entirely new continuity.

My favorite thing in these new comics is all of this backstory they’ve set up. They’ve established a whole war BEFORE the main series and I hope we get a whole series on that eventually. Way more interesting.

Creatively bankrupt. That's what they are. Creatively bankrupt.

I didn't even buy the Galaxies issues held for me yesterday, mostly because of the lousy Stony McStoneface art. 14 issues into the reboot, I don't give one God damn about any of these characters. I never thought I would ever say this but I should just read an indie comic if they're not going to do anything with an established cast. They're just milking a boring, meandering, overimportant, underdeveloped pitch that hasn't turned into a story yet and never will at the rate they're going. For fuck's sake, they're hundreds of pages into a picture book.

Where the hell do they find these people? No, really, are they all part of some nepotistic club? This would be substandard work even by government standards.

Interesting thoughts. Thanks for sharing them. As for the bolded words; don't worry chap.

Let's say I am experienced when it comes to dealing with people like that. I've always been the underdog around here (at least out in the open, got support in pm). So, thanks for the advice, chap, but I'll manage. I always do.

Now, this is a post that hits the nail on its head. It's all about appeasing one another & this is quite evident. There is truth to your nepotist-club comment. Combine this with the fact that my old, ruined shoes possess more creativity than this washed up lot and you get this mess we are dealing with.

The previous IDW run is good for reading.

My favorite periods were the "-ations" era and the Phase 2.

I liked how Furman created the universe and how and Roberts and Barber expanded the history and culture of Cybertron and the Earth respectively.

I here to my opinion on shared universe Hasbro:

Although I agree that Revolution was not great, Revolution was a good crossover, and it and First Strike were better than previous Transformers events (Chaos, Combiner Wars and Titans Return) and about the other comics that came out after Revolution: Revolutionaries and Rom were great, GI Joe and Micronauts were good and only Mask and Visionaries were bad . Besides Optimus Prime and TAAO have a good quality (OP has the same quality as exRID, so the crossovers did not affect anything and TAAO was considered better than the mini-series of Windblade), in fact all the comics are good to and the only one that may have gotten worse was LL and was the only one unaffected by the crossovers. And the comics from other franchises do not affect the comics of Transformers, you're not required to read them to understand the comics of Transformers, and Revolutionaries is practically a comic of Transformers because of the 4 main characters 3 are characters of Transformers ex-RID, and also have two Transformers (and the writer is Jon Barber). Even the GI Joe characters that appear in Optimus Prime are pretty much the same characters that were part of EDC, just changed the name of the organization and they have GI Joe stickers on some of the military vehicles. And about the crossovers only Revolution and First Strike you have to read to understand Barber's comics (although Revolution is not 100% mandatory but your comics contains some references to it) and they are good.

The crossover with Rom is great and the with Visionaries is awful. And Unicron it was a comic of Transformers since the characters of other franchises only appeared as extras.

It's time to continue Furman's Marvel series! I'd even be okay with an ongoing prequel to the Marvel series.

That, and Lost Light. Their adventures are not done by a long shot.

I personally believe that the current issue do not entertain me so therefore they will not increase their quality based on my own opinioned expectation.

Stony McStoneface has been chiseling StoneFormers for years but he can improve his art whenever he wants to.

Not exactly. If you’ve been let down the last fifteen issues or whatever we are up to now, you’re obviously going to expect to continue to be let down.

Well said. Considering the amount of awful content they've been putting out lately, it is safe to assume that it won't change any time soon. If you see a bird poop 99 times in a row and each time it'd bird manure coming out, then you won't expect solid gold when the bird poops for the 100th time.

    Personal opinion:
IDW’s financial struggles have resulted in subpar artistic choices. Or, it’s just a badly mismanaged arm of the greater company. Why dump fan favorite artists for people who are drawing the crap they put out in the first several issues of this new series?
I don’t see TF comics rising to the quality that it should have until a major management change or the company loses the license in its entirety.
Similar things can be said about Paramount. As many franchises that they have the rights to, they just don’t have a clue what to do with any of them.
At what point does Hasbro say, “look. We’ve made money together, but we need to work with someone that can make us money, increase brand recognition AND something that fans old and new can sink their teeth into to and relish.”
I mean, why is this so hard?

This is why people should get the classics volumes. The Dreamwave trades volumes 1 and 2 are good reads too.

Galaxies is positive so far; much better than the main IDW2 book. But there have been better IDW1 books before.

It's hard because they're allowing silly trends that most of the fanbase don't hold or adhere to, to permeate their comic-runs.
