Man, I love this mold.....so much fun to work on.
I finally finished tinkering with Soundwave, I thought he was finished ages ago, but I just couldn't stop "fixing" things here and there....he's completely done now, I swear :D

The first 2 photos are what he looks like now, all finished. The last 3 photos are older, they were taken after the first round of repainting. Slight changes, but I'm much happier with him.

Simple repaint with Tamiya sprays in metallic Racing Blue, silver and gunmetal. I put a ball-joint in his neck for a bit more rotation, and filled in those ugly hollow bits in the inner knees with epoxy sculpt.

His hands were modded with the poseable shapeways hands by fakebusker, they're really nice. It took alot of spraying, sanding, spraying, sanding, spraying, sanding to get the finish to be smooth enough to my liking, but I think they turned out pretty nice.

A bit of detailing to make him a bit more G1-ey, red metallic stripes on the forearms and gold stripes on the legs and chest. His visor is metallic yellow, I added a reprolabel to his chest because the factory painted one kind of gets lost on the purple transparent plastic.

That's about it, Thanks for looking. I'm hopefully gonna finish up my Shattered Glass version soon, wish me luck :)

    Thanks for looking :)

You really put in a lot of work on those hands, didn't you? They look so smooth now it's amazing!
Thank you for sharing this. Soundwave is really gorgeous. Now I feel inadequate about mine D:

Thanks! And thanks for designing those lovely hands! ;)
But now you've spoiled me with them, I'm gonna have to get more for my SG Soundwave, and then Blaster....regular hands are simply not good enough anymore. :(

Took the purple tint off of his chest window today, it was bugging me. I had him posed with a G1 reissue and an MP, the purple looked horribly out of place. I'm seriously finished tinkering with him now, I swear! :lol

Great job. That looks really nice. I really like that mold too but it's just a bit too big for my collection :(
Love what you've done with it though.
I like upgrading the hands too. Makes a big difference to figures.

Every figure needs articulated hands imo even if its like what they did with darkmount/straxus
