I'll probably pass on Soundblaster and pick up Soundwave on a whim to hold me over until Grimlock arrives.

Good to see the voyagers actually being a pretty decent size again, and I can't wait to see how Grimlock looks once he hit shelves. Which hopefully will be soon. Maybe even late December/ early January.

Looking at the two side by side really makes you notice how bad the Deluxe's faceplate looks.  

Does that seat on the Voyager's roof serve any purpose?  

 

New soundwave looks cool, might pick him up.

 

Going to skip Soundwave and Sounblaster but I am stoked to grab the Blaster repaint.

The large size works for that character IMHO, plus repaint = better paint apps (generally) so that's a win as well.

Ha! You are right. But man they are so far back to the sides and unpainted that one can mistaken them for just moulding for the head. I kinda like the 1 eye look anyways.

Sorry I can't help you there... I don't have G1 Soundwave.

Looks like he scales perfectly with Hegemon.

 

With all the scaling back we've seen on deluxes, this is such a pleasant surprise. Hopefully they'll start showing up across the pond soon. These are on my most wanted list officially now.

Really am liking how these turned out. It looks like a figure from the 2008-2009 line, so it's going to be fun to see that type of quality return.

Soundblaster is so bought!  

 

I had absolutely zero interest in this guy initially, but now I can't help it...I may have to buy both and the Blaster remold to boot.

Also! This gives me a lot of hope for Voyager Grimlock.

 

Seeing him next to other Voyagers has definitely improved my opinion.

He doesn't fit in well with other FOC figures, but as a Classics Soundwave he'll somewhat suffice. Ditto for Blaster when he shows up.

 

If I recall, Blaster was quite a bit bigger then Soundwave even in the cartoon so to me this mold is perfect for blaster.

I can't recall which episode in G1 it was but the one where Blaster and Soundwave faced off I believe you could clearly see that Blaster was quite a bit larger then Soundwave. Also, The G1 toys represent that as well.

I agree but I wouldn't mind both at the same time!

Shockwave should of definitely been a voyager! His deluxe is so cool yet so small and it makes me really sad!! I feel like Shockwave always gets the shaft and I don't get why because he is by far one of the coolest and best looking Decepticons!!! I love the looks of WFC Prime and Megs but I agree, I wish they were voyagers as well!

That is a lot of money, more then I would pay for this although I think you are right and that it is probably just specific to that store and being released so early compared to other stores. Sometimes I feel like the scale gets thrown off just to piss us off and get back at us for complaining all the time and never being happy!

Interesting, how you guys plan a carefully-considered purchase and then codify it as "a whim" or "an impulse buy" to justify it to yourselves...  

Damn you, I was ready to reject this awkwardly-scaled figure (and its awkwardly-shaped minions) outright,
and then you had to show how good it looks with other awkwardly-scaled figures...  

It just goes to show that, since most of us have so many Transformers at so many different scales, there are always practical display options!

 

I´ll buy Blaster, SW and SB are too big for my guys...
50 Bucks are a lot, they can´t sell them smaller for that...

 

Love the size. Looks like the only cutback this guy has would be the clip-on wheels.

 

And honestly I don't see those as a massive cutback. Makes it easier for customizers, for one.
