FOC Optimal Optimus (WIP) So I was checking out c9158183's FOC Optimus Prime and Armor out of the First Gunner/Countdown and like many others, I was inspired. The only thing I did not like was the arms from the CD mold. So I went on a search for new arms. As I was searching I found a set of Crossover Hulk arms and knew what needed to happen. This is very much a work in progress. I still need to mod the wheels to look FOC and to add vents or boosters to the back of Primal. You get the idea though! Also I do apologize for the rough early shots. All done with my POS Iphone 3GS. Thoughts, suggestions, or critiques are welcome!
It's hilariously oversized... and yet... still looks kick ass... It's interesting how many different customs folks are coming up with this mold.
The oversize arms are what make this fun to me. I think with the right details, this guy could really turn out well! The legs issue, I've been considering this issue as well. I may replace the legs, but also may fix these legs in place and build a new knee joint to make this guy taller. Good times.
Given the absurd proportions... give him some wings and a half-thought-out jet mode and... you're right! Hehe... truth be told... I'm amazed FoC Prime can stand with such ginormous hands.
Optimus Primal never really had super-gorilla proportions. I agree Optimal Optimus would work better for this.
The change shall be made! Hence forth he will be created with the colors and attributes of Optimal Optimus! Initially he didn't stand up with the arms. But a few reinforcement drops of super glue and left to cure overnight tightened him up amazingly well! I'm going to reshape his calves with some card stock and mount some Flipping guns On his shoulders, allowing the guns to sit on his chest. As far as wings are concerned, I'll see what I can come up with, but he may go without. I don't want to shoehorn those onto him.
Here are some test shots. The first shows that FOC Primes body can indeed handle the weight! Second and third are test shots of shoulder cannons. I would place some mounted in the chest, but due to the angle of connection, theyd be pointing into the ground during ALT mode! The guns being used came off of the DOTM Ark playset. I also hacked the 5mm ports from the same source. Just temporarily in place held by friction. Thoughts?
