I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up yet since people go on and on about wanting a "new" Bruticus instead of paying for an FP version (which is uderstandable nowadays).

Anyways, with the combaticons being in Fall of Cybertron, and them forming Bruticus (yep!), do you see them making a set of combining bots as figures? If so, would you buy them?

Also, how do you think they'd be released? Seperate deluxe packages? A box set? IMO, it seems like box sets are a thing of the past, but at the same time I feel the same way about combiners, so who knows.

And, there were no pics in game informer of completed Bruticus, just a segment about it and a seperate picture of Vortex.

Well, if you believe Shadow, then there will be a FOC/Prime Bruticus. It makes sense, supposedly, Hasbro is pissed off at third parties for "Ripping off their product" so now it looks like they're trying to compete with them. Makes me glad I don't buy third parties ;)

What do you mean FOC/Prime Bruticus? He didn't specify which line it'd be under?

Since they'll be at Hasbro prices (as opposed to 3rd party) I'd probably pick them both up. I mean if they don't look like ass of course.

Unless it's a 5 pack giftset it's not going to happen with Hasbro. At best you'll get non-combining deluxes.

So then let's take what Shadow says out of the equation for this thread, because once I read "FOC/Prime" it wreaked of "he said/she said", and that's no good.

So we'll just keep it at FOC Bruticus speculation.

How big do you think this will be? Deluxes? Deluxes and one Voyager? All Voyagers?

I'd hope one Voyager and Four Deluxes, but I'm not sure what it would be

Did you not hear "competing with third parties?" They have to step their game up

It's easier to have a full combiner if all the toys come out in one singular box set. If your store skips a wave with a certain figure or that wave never shows up, you can't have the full combiner. :(
If Hasbro makes a combiner, it will most likely be Leader or Supreme sized, all in one box. The parts count on each figure may have to be lower so as to not exceed the limit for a Leader. They could make them single packed, so each character can have more pieces, but if your store doesn't get one of the figures, you're screwed.

Good point. If they're smart, they'll make it a gift set

If it's FOC they'll most likely be deluxes. And the whole set will be cheaper than one Hercules member. I'd say that's enough game so no need to step it up.

Yea, I don't know if you guys remember with Flippin' Energon Bruticus, but two of the combiner limbs came out WAY later than Barricade and the other two, so literally everyone was left with an incomplete combiner for some time.

I'd love a boxset myself. I pretty much say that, or bust.

And VM, no that's not "enough game" or even a significant part of the game. Price is fine and dandy, but if they don't release a decently sized, highly posable, and most imprtantly great looking, then they just pushed the ride of more serious collectors even more towards 3rd parties for fan service.

I'm just trying to think like Hasbro. They seem to be using deluxe as the WFC default size. It's somewhat game accurate and less of a financial risk.

If you're going to buy them all, why would you want them released seperately?

Thank you for clearing that up. I read it as, "Fans will be fine with it in terms of competing with 3rd parties just because it's a lot cheaper.".

Looking at the last two years, it seems that anything outside of a usual line would have to be asked for or negotiated with an exclusive retailer. Two years ago there were more negotiated pieces which seem to max out at a three-figure box of some combination of deluxe/legends/voyager. With the exception of the ROTF Devy sets. If Hasbro's trying to combine Generations and FOC there may be exceptions for this sort of thing. I would not bet on a combiner release for this, though.

That's all I have to add, except to say that I disagree with the equation of "serious collector" = someone willing to put out the dough going on in this thread. Everyone is serious about their collections in their own way.
