got him this morning as a eternal shockwave fan, and a WFC player (i like a lot this universe for the franchise, prefect crossover beetwen modern design and animation with the marvels comics story) i love this toy! he's a nice rendition on the game's model of the character, for sure theyve updated Shockwave with some success, yet it was not that easy given his original alt mode the toys have all the typical signature elements of the character, the cyclops head and his awesome light piping, the capability of wearing his weapon as a arm-cannon and it seems it even got the overall proportion of his g1 incarnation (skinny legs, wide torso...) i do like that, (the head on a spring for the transformation is a spot on!) he also have good articulations and the transformation, if simple, is instinctive (the torso part is quite fun), really it's a all good toy (and seems to be the better of the new FOC figures for now) the only real problem you might have with him is quite simple....his height HE IS TOO SMALL! the hollow parts, i can understand, and incorporated in the design of this specific universe, it doesnt look strange, but why make him so small?! they could have put less budget on some other figures of characters less wanted to give this character a deluxe in the same veine of, the first editions prime figures for examples... it's not that catastrophic for being honest, but it feels like a wasted oportunity to produce the most epic rendition of Shockwave to date. maybe as a fan of the character i expected too much, i wished to see him produced during the wfc days after seeing the wonderfull thing the optimus prime mold was...but, well, what can you do...at least, we've got his toy now, better than never i guess
I REALLY wish the legs were bulkier-looking. I would be all over this if they were. I am loving the alt-mode, unlike some people.
Holy. I knew he was small..but that pic with him next to a classics seeker? Too freaking small. Dayumm. Passing on him now.
his height is his only drawback i assure you also, he's one of those toys thats look better in hand than in any photos you might see
Sorry, not accurate. Shockwave is the same height as megatron, and megatron is taller than all the seekers, as is soundwave.
And this is a figure from the game and not G1. So you can't blame the figure for not meeting standards it isn't even meant to meet.
ho, i dont mean to denie your argument, i'm with you on this one no his problem is not scale, the only toys from the game that is badly not in scale with the others is bumblebee, while the others figs are not perfectly sized beetwen them, its close enough. it's just the new height for the deluxe nowadays, which make it smaller than the first WFC toys, the result being that is you display them all, it wont look coordinated.
Got him today and he's definitely better looking compare to Optimus and Jazz. Sure the size is small but both alt and robot modes are fantastic
It's funny how he picked one of the biggest Scouts ever and the biggest Deluxe for comparisons and people are still panicking over it.
Being the best of the FOC figures doesnt mean much, Jazz is horrid and Prime is ok. The bad thing about shockwave is his tiny arms and awkward legs
for those who asked earleir, someone else did it here http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-feedback/620400-foc-deluxe-shockwave-8.html#post7943299
