So I just completed my FOC Briuticus (retail version), and I had an issue with brute's gun combo as shown in the instructions. Brawl's gun just wouldn't stay securely in Swindle's barrel (probably due to the loss of the extra paint apps). Anyway, I played around with the combo a little bit and I think I may have discovered how the designers "intended" the guns to combine. Anyway, after searching through the boards and several youtube videos, I didn't see this [exact] configuration anywhere (they were similar, just the swords were alligned vertically, not horizontally), so I thought I'd share. If you see the attached pics, there is a line detail that extends from Blast Off's guns onto Vortex's swords, and Vortex's swords actually plug into the slot on top of Brawl's gun. The connection is very secure, and I don't have any problems with the gun falling off any more. It also still can attach on top of Onslaught's gun, although there are some slight clearance issues due to the handles on BO's guns. Hope that helps!

 

Just tried this with my SDCC Version, and I must say it's pretty cool. I never noticed the slots on Brawl's gun! This surprised me. Thanks for pointing it out!

 

The SDCC version comes pre-assembed so I didn't see the need to mess with it at the time. I must say this looks good though. I may do this on mine and see how it looks in person. Thanks for the tips.

Technically, yes. But (on mine anyway) the back of Brawl's gun fits, but doesn't peg into Swindle's. I think the extra paint apps on the SDCC may have widened it just enough to keep it in there, but I can't be sure since I don't own the SDCC version.  

Maybe someone else with who has the retail version can confirm how well their combined gun stays together. Maybe mine is the only one with that problem...

 

Wow. I really like those colors on the weapons.

 

Could someone you has (or is getting) the G2 version post pictures of the combined weapon? I'd like to see how the colors differ. Thanks in advance!
