Hey TFW, since the release of FoC Brute, people have been concerned about the weak combiner ports, has anyone actually managed to break them?

Oh yeah. That almost happened with my g2 swindle. I just plug it in very gently to the lower grooves.

About breakage, I thought my vortex port was broken, but then realized that all of the combiner ports were molded slightly differently in their design.

At least one person broke the connector on one of the SDCC Bruticus limbs. Can't remember who.

There are several bits on the Combaticons that make me nervous - Swindle's tabs, the scary-thin chest flap on Onslaught, the badly stressing peg holes on Onslaught's gun - but the combiner pegs feel really solid. I've combined, uncombined, and recombined my G2 set dozens of times now and the ports don't have so much as a tiny stress mark.

by "main character" do you mean Bruticus, or Onslaught? cause if you broke Onslaught i may have to slap you as Onslaught shouldn't be that easy to break and any Onslaught figure should be handled with the utmost care and respect. if you broke of one Bruticus's knee combiner ports, that should have been easy to fix

So far, nothing has broken on mine. I found the limbs are easier to remove if you pull them off at an angle. The female port flexes quite a bit, and I worried that it might break over time, but it hasn't even a stress mark. They've used some strong and flexible plastic for those parts.

The female "port" has always meant to "flex" ... they have to be able to let really big things in and out of them...lol

    I kill myself..

Each combiner port has two sides that are non moving and two that bend slightly. As long as you make sure to not bend the two that aren't designed for it you should be alright.
