yeah i enjoyed watching him transform the characters. optimus had some real weight to him, while jazz does his flips. grimlock still doesn't look right while transforming to t-rex. it looks like his shoulders are traveling down to his wrists. if it takes twice as long to transform grimlock, i get the feelling hes not in multiplayer. wow the animators are really creative and talented, they get a week to animate a transformation back and forth.
Dang... these animators really go all in. I really really love how optimus has this heft to him, and jazz has got his breakdance in there. Those are just really cool little things. Yea def on grimlock I feel something isn't right, but honestly, I feel like they couldn't really do it any other way for the transformation. I wish that his robot mode was just a little bit bigger compared to his dinosaur mode though
Cool stuff. Little disappointing that the mass shifting and glaring transformation cheats on Grimlock are SO obvious, tho.
Prime looks the best in my opinion, jazz is a close second! Can't wait for a gameplay trailer, hah even though we're probably months away from that.

That's my worry, right there. They outright cheat on the transformation. Which is fine for the game, but how are they gonna make a half-decent toy out of this? Otherwise, it all looks brilliant. And I'd happily sell my RTS Jazz if they make a toy of that one tbh.
Very cool! Totally digging Jazz's transformation with all the spinning and flipping. Can't wait to see the full game!
I wouldn't worry about cheating transformations. Remember that all the Bayverse CGI models are non-transformable. Most of the time, the transformation just had to look good from that given angle. Who KNOWS how many parts are clipping through other parts, vanishing, appearing, etc, on Optimus Prime's backside. The transformations in WfC seemed to be the same way. Also, in the games, you only saw the transformations from the character's backside. If you only see Grimlock from behind, you won't notice the weird part where he's giving birth to his own dinosaur head.
I don't think that's the major worry. More that one form is SIGNIFICANTLY larger than the other. Also, that you wouldn't be able to make an accurate toy from it.
It's "his transformation" not "his transform." And Optimus Prime was never a gorilla, that was Optimus Primal. Also Grimlock may be cheaty as fuck, but it's cool.
Haha, I just lold at this. Yea I mean, the designs are really neat, and I'm not really worried about the in game transformations anyway, but I'm really curious about how they are going to be making a figure out of this guy. The WFC figures I feel were done very well, and so I really hope that somehow they pull this thing off. I would buy several if it was done great!
really his transformation is based on the G1 and masterpeice grimlock. the animator said that the camera will spin around him as he transforms, like in the teaser
I try to think of it as "heck, the insides have too be made from something" hence 50% of Grimlock disappearing into himself in robot mode. I literally went back so many times to see where his tail came from before realising that it his legs. The dino head is cool because it's in his chest. What was that logic about transforming Grimlock to be an achievement? Anyway I hoped that WfC2 (at the time) would be revamped and was dreaming up a gameplay system in myhead days before hearing about FoC and it being a "spiritual successor" and thank God that it is. Those are my two favourite words about this game.
I can't play those videos for shit. They freeze and restart every 5 seconds. EDIT: played in a different browser. I like Grimlock's just because of how crazy it is, despite all the mass popping out of nowhere.
