Certainly’s more dragonzord then Evangelion.
I need a model kit of that asap.
While not exactly the same thing, Sentinel (Flame Toys parent company) did do a very high end Dancouga transforming and combining figure.
Also the Gravion mecha. And further back, the Dino-Getters.
There's definitely transforming mecha experience available, it's just that they haven't been allowed to flex it with the Transformers license. Power Rangers is different because Hasbro aren't in full control of that license, still differing to Bandai on that one.
So dumb question. Does anyone own the Drift model kit and knows if it uses the same joint materials of SG OP? I keep finding broken hinges on that poor lad and the question just popped in my head.
I'm in the process of putting together Drift right now and his shoulder joints are really tight to move the arms up to the side. Not sure if that is what you are referring to.
i would do AWFUL things for a stealth bomber megatron furai kit
Not entirely sure myself. The ones I'm talking about are softer materials compared to the rest of the kit.
Same but not quite awful stuff!
Excuse my ignorance, but is that someone's custom or mock cgi work?
That's Riobot's NERV Anti-G Weapon Shiryu Prototype Unit 01, basically Mechagodzilla designed by Yoji Shinkawa for the Evangelion X Godzilla event.
Ah, cool, thanks!
It's interesting that Hasbro is allowing Power Rangers official 3P toys to transform but not Transformers ones, shows how protective they are of their brand.
Well, also because they don't have sole ownership of Power Rangers. Bandai still owns the source material, and that probably changes how Hasbro can handle the licensing.
The multiple licensing angle similarly happened in the past as well. That's how Goodsmile/Figma were able to do figures based on Kamen Rider Ryuki, despite Bandai actively making Kamen Rider figures in the SHFiguarts line. Goodsmile licensed through Saban, using the Western "Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight" branding instead.
There's also been a couple of other HK companies that came out of the woodwork after Hasbro obtained the license to produce other high-end figures based on the Power Rangers branding.
So thaat's what happened. That must still be one of the biggest Ls Good Smile has ever took. They committed so hard to making all the riders, few people bought them, and then Figuarts just demolished them not long after, because Rider fans know that's the superior lien for Riders. Dumb situation.
Not sure if anybody else had pre-ordered Megatron, but I've had a FEDEX notification that a parcel is on it's way from "ZIYUE Toys", I pre-ordered from D4 Toys, so I'm assuming that's it, right?
Me too, that’s Megatron. I have 10 days to figure out where to put yet -another- huge ass winged robot lol
Mine has caught me off guard as it was pre-ordered pre-pandemic and so is going to my work address on Wednesday, when I've been working from home now since March. I've got to hope I can arrange to have a member of staff in to receive it.
Flame Toys Kuro Kara Kuri Shattered Glass Optimus Prime incoming
That looks neat. I would have preferred Nemesis Prime but this looks cool. Does it come with some unique accessories?
This looks really cool. But one thing I wish they did about Shattered Glass Prime was have him sport the Purple and Brownish-Black that he had in the comics rather than the Purple and Blue he's now been sporting recently (that and, you know, maybe some new good SG stories).
Separate names with a comma.
