they both were, maybe they will make an action release the same as they did with prime, where it was just a painted completed version of the kit in the action line

Last time I checked Lio was an 'Action' figure like Primal, looks like they 'demoted' him. Not surprising really, Primal didn't exactly fly of the shelves by the look of it and was (IMHO) overpriced... maybe they didn't want to make the same mistake twice.

As recently as November last year he was being touted as Furai Action:

Yeah, Primal was way too much; but I guess him not originally being a model made it more expensive

I wish HasTak would adopt some of these designs as transformable figures. But with the current design decisions of both Gen and SS I dunno where they'd fit.

 

This looks so sick, I wouldn\'t be surprised if Hasbro and Flame Toys made more Transformers almost knight style, even though I don\'t collect these types of figures I like how this one is almost like a knight

 

This is good news; and it makes sense. In the end the Furai Action Primal was just a downright overall bad value-proposition, with no real stand-out qualities. I can usually overlook overpricing when a figure is well done, but there’s a limit to the premium a company can charge for this type of 'not quite high-end' collectible (Primal felt like an $80 figure, carrying a $180 pricetag).

 

This looks amazing, FLAME, Bluefin, if you're reading this: more of this please! These TRIGGER style designs by Sakamoto are much better than the "hey, we've only got the Transformers license... but we wish we were making Gundam..." figures in the KuroKaraKuri line.

 

I mean, these are already high-end R.E.D figs soooo

 

Which means they don't transform... which is what I'm hoping for.

 

The question now is do I get this one or the Nemesis or SG version.

I like the Primal but the price was going near Kuro Kara Kuri prices. Still want him in the model line.

 

He was originally a model, though. Primal was revealed alongside Lio and Big waaaay back as a grey prototype under the model kit banner then got changed to Furai Action. (Which AFAIK only has the pre-built IDW Optimus in it besides him)

 

Leo Prime is gorgeous holy cow. I'll have to get this when it comes out!!!
