Depends on the collector, if he/she does not give a hoot about box condition, it's a non-issue. But for those who fork out a pretty fee, expecting a pristine package, pray that the courier treats the shipment with utmost care; It's just bubble wrapping and shipping box.

But what happens to the box? Is it burnt? Warped? Vanished?

Did the reissue Drift come with the exclusive extras? I don't recall it did. Wasn't the reissue only available through D4 too?

I don’t think it was only through D4. But it probably didn’t have the exclusive parts.

The only way to get the exclusive pieces, is by preordering directly from D4. Once the preorder window closes at D4, the opportunity to own the exclusive parts ends and available only through the secondary market.

It did, it was meant to be a con exclusive through d4 toys' booth but certain stores had stock and they came w the exclusive mask

In other news, I managed to find an exclusive version on my local e-market(carousell) for just 30$ more than the regular retail price here. I couldn't afford to pass the opportunity up so I snagged it and i'm really excited to have it in hand in about 2 weeks time

Everything I've seen on this is looking good. The sooner it arrives, the sooner I can stick him on the shelf and start wanting their next release...

Mine was supposed to be here yesterday, but it's been stuck in Japan for about a week.

Honestly, Megatron is the one I'm most interested in.

As far as Prime goes, he looks cool still, but I'm kinda bummed by the liberties taken with his source design. Had to get him still because Megatron needs his opposite number.

I mean Megatron has a fair amount of liberties taken from his design as well. So what exactly is it with Prime?

Megatron is pretty much just the IDW bomber design, filtered through Flame Toys' dynamic proportion lens. Anything that diverges from the base design seems to be an add-on (the extra Fusion Cannon Wings/Feathers/Bits).

By comparison, Prime's arms are completely different from the corresponding IDW design. Just generic Gundam arms instead of the distinctive folded plate armor that he's supposed to have. He's also got his standard Ion Blaster, as opposed to dual-wielding the new gun that Don designed, with the secondary gatling barrel underneath.

Finally “Pre-Ordered” this guy and should be here around early February.
Couldn’t be more excited! This is like the perfect rendition of Optimus Prime in my books.

Also got to keep the Kuro Kara Kuri line complete

I'm guessing with Optimus they wanted to stray from what was already done at the model level. Give it a bit more of the iconic G1 look where it diverged the most from the IDW design (the arms and chest).

The torso is still just a more "muscular" version of the IDW body. Split windows, insignia in the centre, two silver lights on each side of the abdomen, vertical silver stripe under each pec. Backpack has the spoiler. It's just the arms that are completely different, and that bugs me.

I like it when Flame Toys is Prime is different from IDW Prime making it a different Prime.

Is Tarn like that as well or is it the same as the IDW one?

All of the Flame Toys Kuro Kara Kuri figures at the moment are based off the IDW designs so far (at least up until that planned Fallen retool of Tarn comes out), just filtered through a Japanese super robot proportion lens. They've gotten a bit creative with some of the accessories at times, but the core robot design is inspired by the comics.

Optimus just seems to be the odd one out at the moment with some major deviations from the source design.

Tarn is pretty much the same. His proportions are just different.
