I'm of two minds on this. On one hand, it looks REALLY sharp. But at the same time, I'm not a fan of the proportions. Glad I got Kultur when I did.

I think I am able to give them chance, Tarn is very specific character in Transformers history.

I'd be willing to give them a chance too, but not for upwards of $300! :D

It looks good, but making a non-transformable figure of a character with a well-documented addiction to transforming feels...kind of wrong.

Haha good one! It also looks pretty good to me, wish Hasbro would give us one sooner than later.

This line seems to shape out really well. I want to see a review on the Drift first but if they have similar features to the Metal Build Gundam line I could see myself collecting this line. Especially since I'm one Gundam away from completing the Metal Build catalog. :)

There's no denying Flame Toys is killing it with the design, these figures look stunning. I am getting major sticker shock from the pricing though ...

Then again he's well known for speaking yet the toy doesn't talk, either.

Very clean and interesting sculpt, but agreed that the proportions are a little on the squat/wide side. Not that Tarn was ever a lean bot but it seems his arms are just as big as the rest of his body. The oversized double fusion cannons don't help in that respect. Maybe he'll look a bit better in full color.

the look is impressive, and probably this will be one of the few non-transforming TF figures I\'d ever buy.
But I too find ironic that they made a non-transforming figure for a character that is known to be obsessed with transforming.
Now that I think about it, am I wrong or they actually never showed this side of him in the comics?

I don't get why you would get this instead of the MMC, which looks better, transforms, and costs less. I guess I don't know about the size of these figures, but they don't look much bigger. No criticism to those who want this though.

Metal content, aesthetic, and posability. Not every design needs to be transformable to be great. I know why long-time fans might be upset with the idea of non-transforming Transformers, but coming from the broad world of anime figures and mechas before getting into TFs, I'd say the demographic for this is larger than just TF fans. Some fellow collectors I know are getting Drift without knowing who he is, just because he "looks cool".

I understand that, but you've got to have some deep pockets for small differences like those to be worth it. It's not like when a Hasbro figure comes out and is significantly cheaper than the 3P. Again, I'm not judging anyone who wants this, it just seems like a dumb character to go for considering what's already out there. Drift was fine because at the time barely any company had tried a MTMTE Drift. I see the argument that this appeals to two different markets, but I feel like MMC is better in almost every way, so much so that the sole reason to shell out so much for this, is because it is just an action figure, and not a transformer.
