As cool as Thundertron's bot mode is, I hated the lion mode having stubby little front legs and his head coming out of his shoulders like he has no neck. The whole front end just looked... stubby. Like most figures these days, he also badly needed more paint details.

I swapped the ball joint lion claw parts to opposite sides in alt mode, then all I had to do was position his shoulders (robot forearms) and the lion forearms however I wanted. This way the front lion arms are longer and can be posed in more ways, though still very limited, and his head isn't between his shoulders so much.

For the paint details I just spread around his existing color scheme, mostly going by the box art, but I did paint the colors so the white parts would give more of an illusion of a lions mane around his head. Hopefully now his lion mode is more lion-looking. I like it better anyway.
In bot mode I gave him multiple hair and beard color strands in white, gold, teal, and blue... basically all of his colors.

So does it parts-form, or are the leg parts able to be kept on during transformation?

    Glad ya like it guys.

I'm sure you could do something with the claws in robot mode that looks passable, but I reversed them back to normal for robot mode because I like the shoulder claws just like they are supposed to look.
So yeah, swapping the claws for alt mode is parts-forming. Just something easy to do though if you want the lion to look less goofy on display.

    That's great.

Really my only complaint about this figure are the beast mode front legs. Seems they could have done it a hundred better ways.
