    Rewrite Age of Extiniction

Seeing how many people hated AOE, both its plot and action, and since I love threads like this... change AOE's plot to your sanctification. Try to go in-depth as possible.

Prepare to have your minds blown.
    :bay

    MY INTRODUCTION SEQUENCE

The film opens more than a year after the Battle of Chicago, high on the mountains overlooking Mexico City. The evening light bathes a stalwart Optimus, who gazes down upon the city and its slowly fading day-life. Beside him, Ratchet too observes the city.

Ratchet: Forgive me, Optimus... but what we're doing goes completely against what we stood for in the war. It's an affront to those who died fighting against their tyranny.

Optimus: On the contrary, old friend. What we do today will honor those we lost. Annihilation has never been our way, and I intend to uphold that. I am not Megatron.

Ratchet: Then let us be done with it. Our window of opportunity is rapidly approaching.

    Optimus: Agreed.

Optimus and Ratchet make it down the mountain and enter the city, taking separate routes in their vehicle modes to avoid attention. They roll through the city streets, sweeping the city layout. Night falls.

Ratchet: Optimus, I'm detecting Energon. He's close.

    Optimus: I'm on my way.

The two rendezvous in a location away from the city heart, parking outside a military installation. Ratchet tasers the few guards present, allowing Optimus to transform and enter the base. Inside, he approaches a large casket and rips it open, revealing an inactive Transformer inside. Optimus wrenches him out and revives him with the Matrix. A Decepticon symbol can be seen on the bot's chest.

Optimus: Easy. What is your name?

    Deadlock: My name is Deadlock...

Optimus: Well met. I am Optimus Prime.

Deadlock weakly tries to stab Optimus, but the blade is easily stopped by Optimus.

Optimus: Now is not the time. The war is over.

Deadlock: The war will never be over until only one side remains.

Optimus: You do not understand, Deadlock. The rules have changed.

Ratchet: Optimus, we must go. I'm picking up a patrol, not too far away.

    Optimus: Can you transform, Deadlock?

Deadlock: What does it matter to you, Prime?

Optimus: That is a question I do not have an answer for, Deadlock.

A grenade suddenly hits Ratchet. A strike team emerges from hiding and begins to open fire.

Ratchet: Take the Decepticon and go, Prime! I'll draw their fire, go!

Optimus carries Deadlock down the mountainside, jumping and sliding down; the two transform and stay close together with Ratchet not far behind. Several helicopters emerge from the mountains, and a chase scene ensues through the streets of Mexico City. The bots draw fire from each other and race down the streets, sometimes transforming and hopping from roof to roof.

At the city border, Ratchet finds a manned barricade set in place to stop the bots. With no way around and the others not far behind, Ratchet charges the barricade. He takes heavy fire but pries a path open. Optimus and Deadlock charge past, but not before Ratchet's leg is shot out by an unknown sniper. Optimus turns around and tries to save Ratchet, but takes a hail of rounds from the nearby helicopters. Ratchet insists Optimus to run, which he reluctantly does. After Optimus disappears into the horizon, Ratchet's death plays out the same way it did in the movie –Cemetery Wind closing in around him and Lockdown walking toward him the scene... the rest of it, well, is history...

As the song hits the chorus and the "no one can save me now" section, the scene shifts to a fleeing Optimus and Ratchet's scream is heard. The drums' crescendo as Optimus rolls over some sand and dust, revealing something underneath...

Long story short, I would of loved to See Galvatron take more effort into going after the seed rather then running around Hong Kong telling The Vehicons what to do. After all, it seems as if the whole Hong Kong fight scene was because of him.

You only have to change the title for a better plot.

Now that you mention it... Galvatron really was the "main villain", then, wasn't he? He was behind manipulating the humans into building the Transformers so he could have his army. Lockdown really accomplished nothing and was mostly a device to thin out the robot cast, and give us a few MacGuffins on his spaceship. Shame, because I liked him as a character.

Only thing I'd change would be the removal of about 30 minutes of human element, and use those 30 mins to go into more detail about The Seed/the Knights/Dinobot's history.

How exactly Galvatron and Megatron were connected would've benefited from extra attention as well.

Edit: I like Mr.Chaos' suggestion below as well.

The plot is fine. There are only a few little add-ons needed to plug a few holes. For example, Lockdown should have had this conversation with Prime:

Lockdown: You think you were born? You were built... and your creators want you BACK!

Prime: I... was built by no one! The Allspark-

Lockdown: And who do you think CREATED the Allspark? You think your world is so special? No... your Cybertron was merely one of many worlds created... just like mine. But unlike you, I understand the wealth that can come from obeying my orders.

Prime: I would rather die than submit!

Lockdown: You act like you have a choice.

Second, another small conversation would explain the Dinobots. It would take place in the ship as Lockdown drags Optimus to his cage.

Lockdown: You aren't the first to rebel. In fact, you have another group to thank for your temporary freedom. Perhaps you have heard the legends... the 'Knights of Cybertron'? It was here, on this pathetic planet, where they chose to rebel. (Footage of the Dinobots attacking the Creator ships). They wounded the Creators and then retreated, giving you and your 'Primes' time to grow and develop without their watchful eye. (Lockdown laughs) but like you, their time came to an end... when they met me. (Throws prime into a cage and points to the massive cages around him) Enjoy your company, rebel.

This would have been incredible. Sad part is it would have taken maybe an additional 2 minutes of footage to incorporate all your suggestions.

No idea what this thread is about. I just got back from the film....it fixed everything that was wrong with the other ones.

There's an over-arching plot that isn't fully explained but obviously sets up the next film(s), the crude humor is gone, there's a coherent plot in the movie that makes sense, the action was better than RotF's (which I think had the best up to now), Lockdown was AMAZING, and the Transformers were actually treated as characters.

The only thing I felt was a little jarring was the Dinobots...we get that they're ancient warriors who served on the Knight Ship, which was some kind of search vessel the creators, who I'm convinced are the Quintessons, used to find planets they can use to create the metal for the Transformers. They were extremely old, 65 million years old, and apparently were previously enslaved to work for the creators as their personal warriors. So it makes sense but I would have liked a bit more explanation of them....Grimlock was very much Grimlock, though they accomplished this without the use of dialog. Hopefully they'll be back in the future films and get some lines.

You'd have to fix the last half of the film plotwise... and then fix ALL of the previous films. Too much nonsense honestly...

Galvatron's resurrection as a result of Megatron being able to manipulate the tech is somewhat interesting (Animated did this)... But the notion that the "Spark is the Soul" was emphasized early on... makes that his head (and bug children) transfer his essence onto the new body is well... questionable. Had they saved his Spark instead... it'd be OK... or alternatively, if Megatron ever showed some sort of Allspark Power after Movie 1... then it would stand to reason (again going off Animated) that he is immortal, or extremely resilient to absolute destruction.

Too much thought and logic for the Movieverse. Sad part is that they could've easily fit that bit of dialogue in too... because the film's far longer than it needed to be. (Especially with Flyboy Prime at the end...)

Frankly, I think AOE should have been split into two movies.

-Movie 1: The Human plot. All of the stuff concerning Cade Yeager, Optimus losing faith in humanity, Galvatron, and the human villains would be in this movie. Instead of the Transformium and the manmade transformers being T-1000 knockoffs, they'd be reverse-engineered from the Decepticons that attacked Earth during DOTM. Hound, Drift, and Crosshairs should have been more developed instead of just showing up when Optimus calls them. In particular, Drift should have been one of the Cybertronians being hunted; he would be shown as a Decepticon who escapes from the human antagonists, and then runs into and defects into the Autobots. Galvatron would still become the villain of the trilogy, but instead of just appearing once before running off when Lockdown shows up, he would have a larger role as a villain, and he would either appear to have died (but his body was never found), or he would cut his losses and escape with a squad of Vehicons when his plans were ruined. The movie would end with Optimus regaining his faith in humanity and continuing to defend it. Also, Yeager would get the sword-guns from KSI, who were reverse-engineering Cybertronian weaponry.

-Movie 2: Lockdown's Plot. The Dinobots would have a larger role, being ancient Transformers who were unearthed by accident (they could have been part of The Fallen's attack force or something). Part of the plot would involve the Autobots clashing with the Dinobots, and meanwhile, Lockdown would come to Earth to hunt Optimus. Galvatron offers to assist Lockdown in exchange for one of the Transformium-creating seeds. The movie would end with the big battle in China and the Dinobot charge. If you want, you could have Optimus blasting into space in order to dispose of the Seed, only here, he uses the Cybertronian spaceship instead of the space-capable jet boosters in his feet. From there, maybe you could use him as a way for the Creators/Quintessons to find out about Earth.

I would have dropped the characters played Li bingbing and Sophia myles. Honestly I felt like they didn't really need to be in the movie as long, could have played much smaller roles and were useless beyond a few lines of dialogue.

I would have a longer Optimus/Lockdown chat on the ship

OP- Who are the creators? Why do they want me?

LD- For someone who respects Cybertrons history so much, surely you read the tales and heard the legends of our ancestors. Well those legends are true. And our true purpose in this universe has yet to be revealed.
OP- And what is our purpose?

LD- I don't know, and I don't care. You have a bounty on your head I was hired too collect. And they will pay me a great amount for your capture. It is a shame the other prime isn't alive. I could have retired.

    OP- Sentinel was no Prime

LD - That is not your decision to make. He was a Prime. Not a very noble one though. You wouldn't believe the deals he and Megatron made with me during the war. You should see my collection. You might recognize some of your friends or what is left of them.

OP- (angry scream) I Am Going To Kill You!!!!

LD- (Doesn't Flinch) Look around you Optimus. I killed your Knights. The sacred guardians of the universe. The creators wanted them gone and paid a very nice sum for my success. This ship. Quite the reward. And I kept few knights alive for "scientific purposes".

OP- (Sees the Dinobots in the cage) No it can't be

LD- These four were quite the troublesome, always resisting the creators everywhere they were, even here on earth long ago. I figured I shouldn't waste such potential. I drove them so far into madness they became mindless beasts. Only loyal too me. And if you attempt too escape ill let them rip you apart until your near death. Because the creators only said they wanted you alive no matter what shape you are in.

    (He walks out)

    Enjoy the trip.

how was Optimus too injured to move/escape Lockdown after being shot and hauled into his prison but once rescued was completely fine and running around, how was he magically healed?
