I have a feeling it will make more than TF1 but less than rotf so about the same money as dotm so my prediction will be 90 million

So many big films have come out this year that didn't make 100+ over the three day weekend, so it would be kind of amusing (to me at least) if a Michael Bay film does it.

I was hoping Transformers make atleast $125 million for 3 days. Theres still couple weeks left, so it should make over $100 mil easily.

For the sake of principle I'd prefer if the film didn't earn a bunch unless it actually is of good quality. We've seen a lot of rather good quality movies this year that have had exceptional directing, casts and action - it'd be a shame if Transformers; AOE becomes successful solely based on the fact its another sequel.

    ---

As for my own predictions I feel that regardless of quality it'll earn somewhere between the earnings of ROTF and the earnings of DOTM.

If its a very good quality movie then it might push the earnings to around $1.5bn

Fingers crossed for the latter. Really hoping for a good quality film. Out of the four, this has the best chance with Bay still at the helm. It's like his second chance to start off a trilogy.

I think this film is easily gonna make 100 million in it's first weekend, lets face it, in the US, UK etc, the films easily make a lot, when someone see's "Transformers" they know what they are getting.

With this film, being advertised a lot more in other area's (Mexico, China etc) i can safely say it's going to be on par, or more, than ROTF.

I work in a Cinema, and people's reactions to the new trailers have been amazing, other trailers just don't compare to the AoE ones, the screens literally erupt with cheer when Grimlock comes on so i have no doubt this film will do well

Plus the GIANT Dino Standee's popping up at every Cinema gets people excited xD

Well I will be doing my part, I will be seeing it 2-3 times opening weekend and 4-5 times in the theater overall. I will also be taking friends along as my treat. I am hoping this movie is deserving of my $ because I really want it to challenge the Avengers on the all-time box office ticket sales for third (although I am a Marvel fan, I am a TF fan 1st). As much as these films have been criticized I am still glad they are being made. They are still very entertaining for this nostalgic 36 year old. I think it would be neat to see the 1986 movie updated with new animation or even done in a live action film or something as a stand-alone. Maybe they could even do for the cartoons what they did with the comics and continue from where they left off with the original series. Lots of characters I would love to see that haven't made appearances since then.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is probably Michael Bay last chance to convinced the general audience that Transformers films can be good, and that ROTF and DOTM is a thing of the past. I mean it's FOURTH film, this has to do good, it has to surprise. It's already certain that the film will make serious money. But I pray, PRAY, that this film does well. I'm sick and tired of these shitheads of the YouTube comment section talk shit about this film, i want them to be proven wrong, I want Transformers to be seen as trustworthy film franchise that you can proudly say "I love the Transformers Movies". I just pray.

Come on, the last movie made a billion dollars. You can't possibly think the general public hates Transformer movies.
