My last childhood TF was Micromaster Groundshaker for my 13th or 14th birthday. Then I gave it up until I discovered Beast Wars and bought myself a Transmetal Cheetor sometime in the mid-90's. Haven't stopped since.

I can't even recall...may have been Constructicons that were in better shape than those that "survived" my childhood...

2007 Movie Leader Optimus and Voyager Ratchet. Bought them together from a little toy shop when I was on holiday.

Universe Acid Storm. The Classics seeker mold was the toy I dreamed off as a child that didn't exist.

Second was Universe Sunstreaker. He's the one that really got the ball rolling on collecting.

2007 Movie Voyager Megatron and Ratchet from Best Buy when the movie came out on DVD. Still have them MISB. After that got MP-Skywarp from Wal-Mart when they had them on clearance. Kept that in the box too (has since been opened after getting more MP).

For my birthday (2010?) I bought WFC Optimus and Bee. These I opened, and fell in love with, and it has been game on ever since. Loved the articulation and transformation complexity (sadly they have become much simpler since). Loved TF Prime for the most part, but still, my collection is mainly just MP and CHUG.

What do you consider "adult?" I never really stopped buying from when I was a kid. I can tell you my final transformers purchase was legion Fixit. I couldn't resist the little guy. And he looks 1000 times better spruced up with some of the Reprolabels neonglowish stickers in strategic places

I guess if you want to count around 20 years old, I would suppose something of the G2 line, it's hard to remember exactly what happened that long ago. :lol

FOC Optimus Prime. I had no idea there even were toys to go with WFC and FOC, then I found Prime at TRU while shopping for my nieces.

Then MP Acid Storm and Soundwave alerted me to the existence of Masterpiece figures. It's all down hill from there.

It would have been during or before 2004, I bought a G1 Hot Rod (metal toes, rubber ties, no accessories) for $14 on ebay. I shortly thereafter bought a reissue Jazz. Then I got into Alternators.

Then my parents thought it was cute I was buying Transformers, so they bought me an Energon Barricade for Easter. I didn't realize people gave gifts on Easter. That just opened the damn floodgates.

I think it was a G1 Jazz I found at a toy show, or maybe G2 Optimus Prime at a Toys R Us.

It wasn't until around 1996 that I turned into a full-on collecting madman, thanks to a combination of Beast Wars, internet access, and G2 Laser Optimus Prime, which kicked off the realization that modern post-G1 Transformers were surprisingly awesome.
