Cybertron Leader Prime. Still one of my favorites.

 

I am 42 years old and have not bought a TF toy since I was a teenager growing up watching G1. For my birthday this month I bought myself Masterpiece Optimus Prime and Combiner Wars Devy. I now have the bug, along with my 15 year old daughter, and all we keep talking about is which Masterpiece character we plan to get next. Really having a blast

Hasbro MP01. I was stunned when I saw it, balked at the price tag but had to have it. Such a slippery slope......

 

Hadn't thought much about TFs since the 80s.

Then bought RotF deluxe Sideways because I loved his Audi R8 alt mode.

Then got deluxe Battle Blades Bumblebee.

After initially being annoyed of their complexity, I started liking it. Then bought many more movie bots, later some G1s and then discovered MPs and third party "MPs".

Many thousands of $$ poorer but an unexpected hobby richer.

 

FOC blast off. the detail was too cool to pass off, and then i had to complete the team, and the rest is pretty obvious.

 

Welcome to Masterpiece! Hands down THE best thing ever to happen to Transformers for me.

 

So what was your first TF purchase as adult?

 

Let's see...my first purchases as an adult collector would have been RID 1.0 Prowl and X-Brawn. Both of whom I still have MOSC.

I had slowed down greatly buying TFs during Beast Wars and stopped during Beast Machines and this beast era was during my final two years in high school. I had just about decided to completely stop collecting TFs all together until I saw RID had brought back the Autobots and got hooked all over again.  

 

My wife (gf at the time) surprised me with a Legends Barricade before we saw the 2007 movie. I later bought 4 deluxes during a sale at KB Toys: '77 Camaro Bumblebee, Jazz, Brawl, and Bonecrusher. They took me forever to transform the first time, but I was hooked.

 

G2 Hooligan. Best of the Cyberjets, and one of the first entries into the modern era of articulation.

 

Bought Classics Mirage and Astrotrain together in 2007. They're what got me back into the Transformers franchise.

 

ROTF Leader Optimus Prime. I kept saying to myself "Wow, Transformers got way more complicated."

 

I wasn't "collecting" at the time but I seen War for cybertron Optimus Prime after playing the game and bought him, because I remembered loving transformers toys as a kid.

Then I didn't buy anything until I went full speed with my collecting in 2012, I bought transformers prime soundwave. That started it all haha.
