So I had bought a Wolfwire sometime before Xmas and had been wanting to work up the courage to try and do a custom paint-job on him, as I was not a fan of the admittedly iconic yellow and green/teal color scheme. So I went browsing around Google trying to find a good color set based on other canine-type Transformers. And it was only when talking to a friend one evening that it hit me.

"Why limit myself to just recoloring him as another Transformer?" and I looked up to the top of my desk and there was the answer...my Kamen Rider Kiva Garuru Saber. Royal Blue...Silver...Red...and Gold?? It would be beautiful!!

Now as it was my first time, I made some classic errors. Such as just using Gundam Markers to remake the blue color perfectly. This left many patches and streaking along the surface. And soaking in diluted rubbing alcohol/water blend? Yeah, do NOT do that with plastic for long at all, less than a minute at MOST. Otherwise you risk the thin parts of your figure...like say, the HINGE for the cockpit, snapping and ruining part of the transformation.

But all in all, I am happy of my work and am excited to see what else I can whip up with my collection. Thank you to all who viewed this and BIG thanks to any and all who comment. Criticisms are welcomed!

 

That is really cool. I enjoyed watching Kamen Rider Kiva.

 

This is super neat! Kiva had a lot of issues as a series and might be my least favorite of the Mr shows I've watched, but the suit and monster designs were top notch and it's cool to see them referenced here.

 

It is quite an adventure to see Wataru evolve from the germophobic hermit to King of the Fangire ^^ And ooooh how satisfying it was to see the Spider Fangire get his! LoL

Looks great, the colors fit the mold pretty well. Though, what about the Titan Master? I imagine cutting the head off a Kiva Garulu figure and replacing the face with that.

In Japan, I don't think it would work. I think Bandai own the rights to the toys, and the entry level toys would not be popular with kids. The adult market would be even pickier, too.

Outside Japan, as Masked Rider isn't really that popular, I doubt there would be much interest.

 

I can recommend it if you enjoy those anime where you suspend disbelief and just imagine "What if this were really happening/OW, that's gotta hurt!" but in a live-action format. I would start with Kamen Rider Decade and Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, honestly. A few reasons: While it does not portray each world accurate to their respective series', Decade offers a glimpse of what the previous 9 Kamen Rider worlds are like from 1999-2008. Samurai Sentai Shikenger is a great Sentai show with epic musical scores, a rather serious storyline that barely made it to the USA because "Someone THINK OF THE CHILDREN!"-minded folks wanting to shield kids from violence to an extreme degree AND that both shows are the first to do a full crossover between Kamen Rider and Super Sentai!

But if you are wanting to just try one of each or just one or the other, go with Kamen Rider Gaim for Rider Series. And Gekiranger for the Super Sentai side of it ^^

Like Gundam? Naaaah, not that kind of anime. *Ponder Face* Think more....if Power Rangers in America was PG-13 from the very beginning and allows for swearing and blood and characters ACTUALLY dying....okay yeah, a lil bit like Gundam.  

P.S. IF you do start with Gaim, the fruit motif is strange at first. But just remember this: What Evangelion did for Giant Robot Anime.....Gaim did for Kamen Rider shows. O_O

 

I saw this, read Garuru, and thought Metal Garurumon from Digimon.....can't stand Kamen Rider.
I'd have to recommend MagiRanger personally.

anyways yeah, I do like this, did make me think of metal Garurumon though. and now I know what to do with my spare.

Ah yeahhhhh, Magiranger is damned good! My fave has to be MagiGreen. Seeing as how we are both the big brothers of the family, I like green as my personal color and of the classic elements, Earth/Forest is my preference. ^^ Not to mention that the Magirangers are easily the single most powerful Sentai thus far. XD
