That is *definitely* Megatron. It has two arms and two legs and looks evil.

If it were evil looking, I'd dig it. Megatron has changed forms so many times over the years, I'm not nearly as purist with him as I would be with Prime.
But this isn't evil looking, it's silly looking.

I'm still somewhat looking forward to the movie, however.
I'm not overly fond of the costume from Batman Begins, but I still loved the movie....

 

Eesh, I don't even WANT to associate Welker's voice with that thing. That design just doesn't look practical or interesting to me in any way.

I don't feel like getting into the whole "he is/isn't" Megatron since it's such an opinion based thing. However I do think that General Tekno's chart (while helpful in pointing out some good things as to why it is) can also show how it isn't. Case in point:

In the script, doesn't it say that early on in the movie a character falls into Megatron's "hand"?!
If this is the design, where can he land?! LOL

 

Okay, I've accepted every single megatron except RiD Megs since the G1 megatron but not this time. That thing looks like a brute from halo2 mixed with a elite from halo2 then turned into a robot and given a chrome paint job. There is no way that could ever be megatron. I mean for the love of god I and proberly everyone else would have found a tank sutible for him. His face...blarg same for the body as well. I will admit though if it was in a genric robot flick that would be most bad ass but not for transformers. I think they're leaving him in his protoform cause they counld bother to spend a few grand on a second version for later in the film.

 

Looks like one of those Dinozaurs toys.
