I reckon it'll be an alternate head on the instructions, sadly. It's also perfect fodder for an enterprising third party company, along with some gear to replace whatever piece of shit accessory he comes with. Does seem to show how long ago the figure was first designed, though.

 

At least like Megatron he should have enough mass in his weapon to cram some electronics into it without it looking silly like Starscream's weapon does.

I hope if they ever do a Voyager Soundwave they resist the temptation of a silly weapon and simply give him a light up face and engine as that would suit him best and if he comes with light pipe inserts in purple in his body so they light up too and a decent Laserbeak that's the best way to handle him and no need for mechtech like sillyness.

Though if the engine pod was removable and usable as a wrist gun and was shaped a bit like G1 Soundwaves weapon then I guess I could live with that but not a huge lump that ruins the toy just stuck on top like Starscream has.

I hope that Dreadwing//Skyquake comes out Ok too - as hopefully his/their chain gun is something that Hasbro can't screw up cramming the light into. even if logic and good sense would make it wind up or friction spinning instead of just flashing or lighting up.

Can't wait to see how they butcher it with the powerizer gimmick. That clear abdomen for example...potential dealbreaker.

Anyway, I think he looks awesome. I like the head; I think it looks fine, though if he had a neck, he'd look that much better.

 

I can't wait to see this in color; they seem to have done a pretty good job with this mold. I'm not looking forward to seeing whatever goofy MechTech weapon he's getting.

 

Oh yes. Loving it. Though, if there is any chance of an eyepatch and a Cannonball repaint I will be snagging that instead.

 

Forearms looks kinda kibbley, but that could easily be mistransformation. Even if it isn't, I could get past it. The small head really doesn't bother me that much, to be honest.

I think an Optimus-type Powerizer weapon on him would look pretty cool, actually, a cannon that unfolds into a larger one. His soon-to-be-seen Arms Micron should be killer too.
