I feel like there's a conversation going on somewhere

Hasbro employee 1: We've got to reveal this thing now! Hurry up and transform it.
Hasbro employee 2: it's just a prototype and it won't go together right! Besides, we haven't settled on the final color scheme and the box art isn't done.
E1: just leave it as is, that's close enough aaaaaand (takes pic with phone) there's your boxart. Just fudge the colors.
    E2: but sir
E1: just do it they'll never notice

    THREE HOURS LATER
    E1: (checks internet) they noticed...

Truck mode is a bit of a fail for me. Unpainted tool boxes and half-painted fuel tanks when all the other surfaces are painted, awful front windows (why not just tint them or place the back parts further away from them), some weird proportions and a truck mode that barely holds together. Not too keen on that torso and head in bot mode, and some proportions would have been better left alone than making them movie accurate. Ouch.

It looks okay. I like the WJ version better. I feel kinda ripped off that it looks like the leader figure. I think I'll pass, but who knows.

If you're unavailable I can fill in. Just saying. :D

Yup, so you have options at least.

You joke but that's likely not too far off from reality. You'd be amazed how last second things like these are.

If nothing else the WJ version is likely much cheaper. Unfortunately he's just a bit too big for what i have in mind, so i may go with the MPM instead.

So I noticed that is a HASBRO Masterpiece figure and not takara which may explain why it looks like a knockoff. Hell that thing is not even to the level of the leader prime from ROTF which in my opinion is better than this nightmare. Hasbro does not hire people who genuinely care to get it right. They are more business than toy maker and takara is obviously the other way around.

I don't get it; are the short smokestacks Hasbro being child-friendly or are they collapsible? Also, was MPM Bumblebee co-desined with Hasbro too?

All I get from this is a big \"meh\". It doesn\'t look bad, but I think the Movie the Best Leader does it better.

\"Let\'s make a new Optimus Prime mold, it\'ll be the biggest, most complex one! And let\'s make sure it has the same issues the most common one did, it\'ll give them a sense of nostalgia for back in the day when they bought that one!\"

At least this one probably won\'t say \"I am Optimus Prime\" over and over. But look at those half-painted fuel tanks, that\'s awful.

This guy looks like the perfect compromise of screen accuracy and transformability. Bayformers may never see 100% of both but for 99.00, this is pretty great.

Now do I keep my 4ever studio prime or sell? Kinda want MPM-04 to display in alt mode next to him....

As many people have said, it's co-produced.

Also, I'm actually surprised they didn't do the collapsing wheels thing. The wheels are actually quite thin and the rear wheel wells are equally thin. Though, to be fair, this will help out the backpack immensely as those red stripes are almost equally thin.
