Same here dude, this now looks like just an alternative to the variants of the ROTF Leader, but now messy and less enjoyable.

Oh well, i'm buying bee, hope HasTak doesn't drop the ball with the next ones (if they make them) as they did with Prime.

Even with the flaws, I vastly prefer the MPM model. Things stick out less and he looks a lot more accurate. Everything is proportionally too large on the ROTF leader. Plus, I never display my figures in their alt mode so the MPM will be a go for me.

Even with the instructions at hand, the diagrams are pathetically small

I actually have this bizarre feeling of relief hearing about all these issues. It means I'm not inclined to rush out and buy it and spend money on something I don't need. I love my Buster Prime so I'm happy keeping him as my definitive Optimus for a while until this guy becomes more readily avaliable.

So... our very own Optibotimus said that I'm experiencing issues with the vehicle mode because I lack practice. While I don't deny the possibility, I seriously can't wait for him to get his. (^.^)

    IMG_9763.JPG

Unfortunately, the head wasn't the culprit... While the tip of the horns were indeed pushing up against the bottom of the cavity, the windows still wouldn't stay down even with it gone.

HOWEVER! Thanks to me removing the head, I FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEM. For some reason, the bottoms of the windscreens are angled downwards! If you look here, as long as the arms/hood are parallel to the windscreen section, the pegs won't stay in:

    IMG_9809.JPG

But! If you click the arms one click downwards and have the hood pieces pointing downwards, they fit PERFECTLY!

    IMG_9808.JPG

    IMG_9807.JPG

Of course, this just won't fly in truck mode. The side doors won't fit, the head won't fit, the hood won't peg in to the grill and forget the side panels. How in the world this happened, I don't know. Was it the mold change to fix the chest? Was it an oversight during production? As it is, all signs point to the fact that this is clearly not a QC issue.

From what I understand, what you're supposed to do in that picture is to push the legs upwards on the double hip joints so that they are against the black tabs. There is no way to actually push the black tabs forwards.

I unscrewed the windshield panels to see where they sit naturally. As you can see, there is a huge gap between them and where they should connect to...

Open to suggestions on how to correct this. (^.^')

I'm still really excited for this release but no figure should have a problem like this. I wonder what went wrong during production/QC.

Yeesh. So for me its a safer bet to wait for MPM04 version 2.0 or something...hopefully Takara's release in September will fix any minor flaws in the current mould of this toy. Finger's crossed!

I'm banking on this as well. I am not okay with these kinds of problems. It seems when Hasbro is involved these kinds of things are more prominent. Wonder why that is?

    This is mine....

If u do it properly, the bonnet can clip properly....
The main thing u need to take note during the transformation is the head and the matrix part, that the instruction never tell you.

Aside from the windshields still look like they don't peg in fully, the hood panels are surprisingly flushy.

Speaking of which, in our country, intermediary stores have already procured MPM-3 since the 13th this month, but they haven't got MPM-4 in stock yet. I'm looking forward to grabbing one of these.

That said, I did spend around 7 something years to hunt for the most perfect Leader ROTF figure, which ended up at APS-01...

Just wish the blue was a bit more darker like the movie trucks and of course rubber and chrome wheels.
