Yeah, but the main problem of blackout in the first movie is that, even without scorponok, in the final battle, he still transforms.

I attribute that to the same logic as G1 Optimus' trailer. Its there, except when it isn't.

Screw that, I hope they sell them. They've sold other TRU exclusives before

They're capitalizing on the hype. Understandable, but annoying nonetheless -__-

Can someone explain to me why figures like these are unveiled in China before places like Japan and America? I really would like to know why. Would help out my research.

Welcome to TFW2005. Here's my assumptions

The international interest in Transformers have been growing since the live-action movies, and the movie chronology events even "went" to China (Shanghai) in the second film (probably helped to gain some more audiences there). What really catapulted the Transformers appeal was probably the 4th movie advertising/pandering/representation of China in the film. What's not to love about metal robots, especially if their story represented your country's government/operations/culture in the best possible light

As such, Hasbro merchandise marketing aims to capitalize on this new audience, what with the box office numbers speaking to finances. HasTak is probably promoting their products there more in a bid to entice more consumers, and probably feels retention of the domestic market is safe enough to invest less in it.

I still believe Japan maintains a healthy amount of reveals/new product information and whatnot. I can't confirm as I'm not a resident, but news such as exclusives have always felt consistent.

Wow, you really helped opened my eyes. I thought Hasbro was losing faith in their American market. But in reality they just want to expand and give more people the goodness of Transformers. You know what dude, you honestly changed my perception around so fast. Thank you so much for helping me understand. This was the best and most informative info I've gotten on the subject. Thank you so much man you're a real hero!

D'aww, thank you! You made me blush

People probably do give HasTak more flak than they deserve. Hasbro is far from perfect, but they aren't villain number one. With companies that own properties I'm interested in, I sense HasTak has the most fight. I read somewhere that the likes of 3rd parties were registered as legitimate competition (always good to give yourself a reality check), and their designs/ideas/executions seemed to have followed suit.

I collect movie-based toys, so here's what I saw: The Age of Extinction toyline sucked and fizzled out fast? Well, the current The Last Knight toyline is still making its way into markets, with much more merchandise this round. As a movie fan, just when I thought I was done due to their simplified engineering on Deluxes/Voyagers/Leaders, they dragged me full force with Move Masterpiece toys, and it felt like a huge catering towards people who grew up with the movies as their G1 (as I did). I see evidence of their worksmanship here and there, and the most recent example would be MP-39 Sunstreaker. I don't even collect G1, but there are things that feel like elements only HasTak can do what it does (like with extra features such as an opening trunk/opening doors), and in the end, that's what makes a toy company unique and stand out from the rest.

..and of course what makes me toss my wallet at that certain toy company.

I’m a little behind on information,
can anyone tell me when we should be expecting pre-orders for Optimus Prime MPM or what companies will be selling him?
I'm not sure if this has already been announced.
