The problem with that comparison picture is that it's not using a finalized Barricade CGI model. Unfortunately, there aren't any perfectly clear images of his chest in the TFW gallery, but I think this image is good enough to show that his chest does look the same as it does on the MPM.
Yea and they were also wrong on the past figures. I thought you meant they flipped on the toy. They should have added a swivel under the panel to flip them to the movie configuration. Notice they flipped the police doors
I think he still uses purple and blies in the film but due the way he was filmed (in the darkness) it's too hard to notice it. Extended your list just by a bit.
The DOTM version looks exactly the same and there are clearer shots, but you're right, the cgi model is different than what's on screen. The chest is just about perfect here. It's also notable that Barricade does kind of have a sunken head, although not as prominent as in the MPM
I agree so much with this statement! I also liked how alien they looked over the newer humanoid look. But as long as they are able to make great figures I guess I can forgive the newer designs.
Not according to Is this list based on rumors/ insider info? or just a list of all possible bots from the first movie?
Luckily Takara's a fanatic to black paints and full film accuracy so you could wait for that, Whichever brings the most nostalgia in you. Just a list of all possible bots.
That’s the plan As I stated in the prime thread, it looks like hasbro is (as usual) replicating the original figures, while Takara is emulating the CG models.
Why does ironhide (is that ironhide? 4th bot in the first row?) have an X through him. As far as I know they has been not confirmation of him
If someone good with Photoshop can grab a the Barricade from the hostage scene in DOTM and add that to the comparison graphic, it would be much appreciated.
I'm really pouring over these photos to try to figure out the transformation scheme, and it's proving very tricky, which is a good sign that this guy is gonna have a complex and satisfying transformation. I can definitely tell that the wrist wheels are not fake kibble and are in fact the rear wheels, and I can kind of figure out how the arms might work a little bit, I can see that the rear windshield splits apart and becomes part of the forearm. It's very crafty! Edit: Having figured out the arms, everything else is pretty straightforward except for the chest.
When collectors want the best of something, they surely don't let any "Barry"-iers stop them. Great work!
