In the toy section there are people bitching about the price that BBTS has guesstimated for MP Rodimus. It's funny that even though BBTS say that it will be most likely lower. People is still bitching and saying they will wait for the Hasbro version. And if Hasbro does release it, I bet people will still complain.
this is gonna be the one MP i'm getting the japanese one along with the american one, i ain't missing this figure
God I am so confused wth this toy.. HOW DOES IT TRANSFORM!?!?!? SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME BEFORE MY HEAD ESPLODES!
Just looking at the shape of the arm, and the panel seperation of the cab, I'm starting to think that the shoulders are already in the correct position (although not pulled out) in relation to the hood/chest in vehicle mode, instead of the tops of the sholders being by the bumper like the original (in other words, the shoulders don't "swing down" during transformation). How that works, or if I'm even describing it clearly, I have no idea, but its the only way the upper arm shape makes sense to me. Or I could be wrong. Quite possibly am. I just can't help but stare at these photos and try and figure it out.
Yeah I think Rodimus design doesn't lend himself to an overly complex transformation, much like Grimlock. Movie Prime's transformation is cool, but a bit too fiddly for my taste. Chest tabs from hell make me want to not transform him more often, and at time lining certain things up is more of chore than necessary. I think Masterpiece shouldn't be as complicated to transform as movie Prime part of my fascination is how a cool vehicle can become a cool bot, yet still retain a level of transformation that a gifted child could enjoy. I enjoy the hell out of my movie Prime, but it took my little cousin a month to transform it right, and eventually he broke the tabs on the chest. I think leader Starscream is as complex as a transformation should be... enough to be cool and involved without getting frustrating. I hope Hot Rodimus is like this too. Plus I always thought it was implied that Hot Rod gained the trailer (like Optimus) and that it wasn't really part of him. I've always liked the battle platforms/stations, so I guess that's why it doesn't bother me.
Yeah, But I think it may be released minus the trailer to keep the price down. Hasbro's history with High priced toys($100+) has not been very good to them the last few years.
I suspect the price BBTS listed isn't going to be too far off the actual price. Not enough to make a final decision... so far, underwhelmed. So... you're telling me i might not be able to buy it from Argos on clearance for 10.00 then?
well i think that all depends if this had a hot rod alt mode along with the trailer, seeing as hasbro wouldn't get rid of the trailer if it is necessary for the vehicle mode
They're releasing Takara's MP Grimlock, which was what, 140 or so in japan, for half the price in the US. I don't think releasing this without the trailer will even be an option, given the wheel visible in the back of his leg. His lower legs are probably part of the trailer.
That's IF it could be released without the trailer. Assuming it has a worthy enough vehicle mode without trailer. Come to think of it... that may in of itself be reason to think he has a vehicle mode minus the trailer. How the hell would Hasbro package this in the US if it came with the trailer? That would be a huge box, and they like to package MP's in a visible bot mode. Hmmm...
They could use a huge(r) clear box like grimlock', and have him in the combat deck, maybe? Uh, those are just un-cropped, watermarked versions of the images in the first post. the actual visual image size of the toy in each photo is the same..
Easy. You have the cab and a few plastic sheets which you have to glue them together to form the trailer.
