As for justifying the higher price point? F*ck the tool costs, parts count, and weight: the fact is that Hasbro is now making MORE money, despite these "higher costs" and "supply/shipping problems".

I'd love for TF fans to stop telling Hasbro they're willing to sell their kidneys. Seriously. Stop it. You have important bills, home repairs, and check engine lights to take care of! Meanwhile, Hasbro execs buy themselves a new luxury car with their poor, squeezed margins. Im seriously playing a tiny violin for their plight. I'm good with the SS and Kingdom Voyager. The evolution from Deluxe to Voyager makes sense.

 

Side burn's blue and white is the greatest contrast I can think of either then a bright lime hot rod as chameleon I guess.

Tangent: I was looking something up about the cast of Challenge of the GoBots and I came across the name “Dick Gautier” and I kept wondering why do I know that name? So I looked up his filmography.

Anyway, I keep wondering if Crasher could potentially lead to more GoBots popping up in Legacy. She’s gotten a toy before as Fracture and she’s one of the most popular GoBots which I’m sure infinitely helped, but I could definitely see a Cy-Kill retool from Wreck-Gar.

 

I’d love to see G2 Motormaster as the leader. But don’t think they’ve saved that much coin in reductions. He could definitely fit in the leader box tho.

Hotrod is the best mainline figure ever made, like the culmination of some designers life work. $30 is cheap for that.

If He gets another MP with this exact design but scaled up, maybe with a little metal, I'll won't be able to preorder fast enough.

Well that part is true. The price increases are not commiserate with the actual cost of production increase. They just know fans will buy.....

 

My hope for the leader is an extensive retool or a fully new mold to help make everything else being a repaint or a repack sting a bit less, I'd love Clench but don't think they'll do 2 black decepticon semi trucks in a row, so maybe something like Nova Prime with an easy Hero Optimus repaint down the line? Though an evil (but autobot) white semi might still be too close, in which case something like Galvatron into Marvel Straxus could also be a neat option.

I know. I just get bored of seeing the same characters over and over, especially with such similar color schemes. I know they're different, most notably with the legs, but they're not that different. Maybe you don't get bored of the same characters with roughly the same colors consistently getting new molds and repaints, and I legitimately and genuinely understand that, but I'm so tired of it.

The fact that it's in the velocitron line just makes it so much worse to me

 

If the leader ends up being a Thunderclash retooled from Motormaster, I just hope they completely overhauled him beyond recognition & give him a somewhat decent rendition of his unique trailer battle station

Something like what they did when they turned Cheetor into Ravage or Skids into Crankcase

 

While I dont have a Menasor, I find myself not really enticed by the new stunticons, I find myself passing on dragstrip a lot, and I can imagine wildrider will be the same, but something about the Shadowstrip colors work better for me than Dragstrip. And while I have the SS86 Hot Rod so I don\'t wanna double dip, but that darker red is really really drawing me in

 

Where is everyone getting ideas about Thunderclash and Motormaster? There is no way to make Motormaster work here. He needs his bits. I also don’t see how to cut up the mold to make Thunderclash happen at leader.

 

It's probably because I grew up more with the G1 cartoon than I did the toys but I just don't care about the Hot Rod's toy deco. Plus between the original SS '86 Hot Rod, core class Hot Rod, and Commander Rodimus, I feel like I've got the character pretty well covered. However, I do hope he isn't a hassle to get for those who do want him.

Crasher is the one I'm excited for out of this set, this is the deco I've been waiting for the Mirage mold to get since Siege. She was always so delightfully brutal in the Go-Bots cartoon and I never did the Fracture figure so this is my chance to make up for that.

You know originally I didn't think these would be out until next year but with them already being on the shelves in New Zealand I'm betting they're going to be revealed at Pulsecon and probably out by November.

 

I missed the first one so I might get this if I ever find it. I wish the feet weren't grey and they'd painted the yellow bit on the roof this time but oh well. I definitely would have liked a Targetmaster this time but it is what it is.
Definitely seems like a lesser version though. I prefer the shade of red on the new one, but man, they really skimped on all the silver paint and made some weird plastic colour changes, then took away some of his accessories.

I still have no idea what all these sublines are meant to be though. Is this one an exclusive? It seems that way but I have no bloody clue. Just release it as a regular Legacy figure, dammit.

EDIT: Oh, it's a stupid Walmart-exclusive line, as if we didn't have enough bloody exclusives from Hasbro. Guess I can say goodbye to ever getting this Hot Rod then. Oh well. Really stupid that entire figures like Cosmos are made as exclusives.

Hasbro has lost me. I can rarely find anything I want any more, and then they make 2/3 of the stuff into exclusives now. I don't even see the point any more. Those of us not in North America get thoroughly shafted, whilst the Americans continue to complain as if they're the worst-off. Cool.

 

Well I don't like any of the toy repaints, but there's enough toybois out there that prefer the figure's color schemes and details regardless of how well things like 80's styled sticker-tampos and toy decos work on modern cartoon sculpted figures work. And I bet a lot of these unique looking new molds we get with not much repaint potential into other characters are justifiable to Hasbro by being able to pull out these alternate "Player 2" decos.

 

I did miss out on the original Studio Series '86 Hot Rod... so I'll get this version (which in my opinion, I think looks better) instead.
I find it funny that the package art of the robot mode is just an edit of the Kingdom Core Hot Rod package art.

 

Because some people were seeing ghosts with Motormaster's trailer battle station being vaguely similar, and because of Apollux stating that the Motormaster tooling request sheet had an alternate Thunderclash head requested, meaning if they went through with it Thunderclash would just be a Motormaster with a Thunderclash head.
