I totally agree. They could be testing the water early especially given the success of the Haslab VS backing. Hopefully once in hand and fans/collectors swoon over VS, that will help get Hasbro to do more characters from that continuity.

When I made my initial post to the thread I said I’m happy they are doing these characters but perhaps they could start off with one that they can get the scale right.

The jury is out for me on the Core Dinobots. Who am I kidding. I will likely get them. :)

I agree and understand why they have used this mould but I think they could have considered another route with this character. Perhaps gone with another character from this continuity that doesn’t have a character of such great size that they will compromise on.

You might find that Hero is born set shelf warms at the price it went up for. Definitely a chance that may happen here in the UK.

I’d be up for that. Will go well with my MMC Stellarus Prominon.

    Haha.

The Astrotrain mold works for Galaxy shuttle. Astrotrain’s robot mode was great tbh. I just wish it was a heavier retool to somehow get rid of the train mode, cuz astrotrains vehicle modes were pretty horrible

The A hero is born set will shelfwarm here too if it gets here and sold through normal channels.

The scourge/sweep mold is good enough. The kup mold not so much.

Having a version of vector sigma is cool but I can see that and the key getting lost by fans.

I like the colours but those red weapons really clash, for me! They should have stuck with the original colours, or blue would work at well.

Honestly, the more they're able to tie various characters together like this the easier it becomes to justify future new molds.

I agree with your comment about being the best on hand mould but it still fails to do the character justice.

I would have settled for a figure in bot mode the size of Siege Jetfire to be GS. Still undersized but certainly in keeping with Haslab VS.

In an earlier post I said when a number of collectors receive their copy of Haslab VS, this figure will look rather undersized next to it.

I have both AstroTrain and the Botropolis set. Each are great. I just don’t see the use of this mould as a good move in giving us a character the size of GS. I’d rather they put off doing this character and visit it later on. As you have said it is just getting more out of that mould with minimal tweaks required to get to market. On the one hand I hope it sells well to encourage more figures being done from this continuity. On the other, looks like this won’t be the definitive version given the compromises on size/scale. Hopefully they do get to have another go at it.

    I hope so.

What do you mean "doesn't fit the racing theme"? Galaxy Shuttle fits the Velocitron racing theme perfectly, because space shuttles/trains are quite fast, as are cranes and tanker trailers and compact city cars, it's only logical that a train/space shuttle should also participate in a race on a planet where their leaders gain their positions of government by racing instead of free and fair elections. Pffft "doesn't fit the racing theme" indeed...

Supposed to drop at 10 AM EST. Link says Out of Stock right now because it was never in stock.
It is definitely a nice test for Hasbro to see how popular a character is. If the figure sells well in a short amount of time then Hasbro is more inclined to return to the character. If the figure has to end up at clearance and still doesn't sell then Hasbro is probably not going to go back to Galaxy Shuttle for quite some time. Plus it has been 3 years since Astrotrain came out so it is far enough removed from this release that people aren't as likely to skip Galaxy Shuttle if they already have the mold as they would be if they came out in the same year.

This would go very well with the botropolis set with sky lynx in shuttle mode.

It's also a way to establish characters who can share molds.

Galaxy Shuttle, Astrotrain, likely Armada Jetfire....we get a list going of guys with shuttle modes so there's options for repaints and retools.

Indeed. I wasn't planning on getting it, but I'm glad I did when it went on sale. The prices for it now are crazy. Time to order the toyhax set for it as well...

Now if they'd just sort out an integrated Voyager-to-Commander Countdown/Rocket Base to go with them!
