    Yeah Lol

I have been lurking for a while and gotten a lot of tips from reading the posts here and figured it was about time to return the favor.

One of the tabs that hooks the back into the legs broke off on mine. I wasn't even moving it wrong, it just snapped off.

So I will be the test case that f-d up. Don’t use 91% alcohol - I didn’t even notice but the flame effects cracked on a few parts at the mounting end and broke. I recovered enoug and superglued it mostly back

be careful how long and how much U soak

    Ahh man :(

I'm glad you were able to fix it though!

For anyone else stripping the paint:

The alcohol strength is definitely a potential danger. I've seen people give warnings about 91% even on non translucent plastic. The 70% and lots of toothbrushing is the best bet

Wait which ones? The ones that the two folding red pieces tab onto? I've transformed mine a few times now (I genuinely adore this toy) and I don't really feel like they're under pressure or anything.

Yup, sometimes less is more. I've used 91/99% sometimes and it goes too far and eats the plastic. It's really useful to have multiple strengths handy for situations like this.

They aren't, which is why I am pissed off about it. I think mine was just weak. I transformed him a couple of times since, and the other tab is fine and the figure holds together, so I just put a little bit of red paint to cover the piece up.

I was being lazy and impatient, i could have diluted better and waited; instead I figured mostly 91 would get it done faster

the plastic where the holes are are actually quite thin, and since we’re dunking and not rubbing…well, thats why

use 70% and be patient and i bet its fine

Found out what happened to my Rodimus. One of the kids was messing with it. I discovered this because he was messing with it again today and managed to snap part of the spoiler off when he dropped it. I am going to have to order a new one, and BBTS jacked their price up, so I guess I will go with Amazon. :banghead:

Sadly, the wife might object. :lol

Nah, he's five, so it's partly my fault for leaving him out.

Has anyone figured why the designer didn't place the trailer's pipe hinges ABOVE the gap for the spoiler so the pipes had to be lifted to attach the cab but then rested over the gap instead of having their own gap? It seems like an obvious thing to me, but maybe there's a good reason...

ALSO has anyone painted or made stickers for the maroon windshield trim? I'd love to see if it changes the overall look considerably.

Man, pipes with hinges above the gaps would be an amazing add-on kit...looks like the entirety of the upper pipes are removable. Hopefully the lower ones are, too (I pur him away for the night). Feel free to steal and profit! Just tell me where to buy a set.

I am having a hard time tucking the rear wheels into the legs as there isn't enough clearance. I have to flex the plastic to get them to tuck in. Is this the correct way or am I doing something wrong?

Literally came here to ask the same thing. Got the chest figured out and the trailer I can get closed reliably, but even pushing the tire inside first and angling the black boot part perfectly, I feel like I am required to flex plastic to tuck the calve together and that feels incorrect.

I somehow feel like there is supposed to be a double hinge to allow it to clear, but for the life of me can’t get it to move.

I’m assuming it’s lower to accommodate the trailer opening seamlessly. IE: they wanted this pipes to move out of the way of the sides on there own to avoid potential ham hands breaking the toy.

I verified that the spoiler and the pipes can be removed from the trailer. There are glued pegs, but they pop free with a little force. I didn't have a chance to take pics, but the truck mode (in trailer) looks so much better with the spoiler moved forward some. It would look odd being near the middle of the car, though. Shame it can't slide up and down...

Easy fix if I were willing to modify the toy to make the spoiler attach with pegs in both spots, but I don't want to do that to an $80 toy.
