Well that was kinda the point of my question ....to determine if it is a design thing, or a QC thing. Hence why I proposed it to the group.

 

I dont't have Rodimus Prime, but it sure does bother me when this happens. It makes me feel like I've done something wrong in the transformation.

Incase anyone was curious, the sword of primus can be wielded by ER/Kingdom Optimus

 

You have to get him situated in there just right. The fin absolutely just click in place to make sure he's fully locked in. That's the only time I can get him to lock with all wheels down.

Just recieved my copy. Happy with the figure itself but it seems I have the same problem as you had. Can you elaborate with more details of the process of fixing this problem?

 

First try closing it with the cannon out

 

If it still won’t stay. Scroll back several pages there are several (rubber band/hot car or garbage)(dipped in hot water and held shut)

it’s the front sides of the trailer with the gray tabs. He was strapped down to tight they warped.

 

Mine stays shut but only with the cannon out

 

Hardest issue I had with my Rodimus prime transformation to robot mode was getting the chest all the way down. For some reasons initially I could only get chest 2/3 down and it left a large gap between the chest and waist. I watched a bunch of review videos and could tell that the gap wasn’t supposed to be there. Seemed like chest hinges got stuck and wasn’t moving properly as it should but after moving the chest hinges piece up and down dozens of times I finally got the chest to fold all the way down.

 

I close 1/2 and slide the cannon in. It’s the barrel. It hits on the tab and pushes up popping the Trailer open. I’m not shaving cutting on my favorite toy. Not yet.

 

I found the best way to clip that piece in properly is by putting pressing on the top of the chest rather than the bottom to clip the pieces together.

 

Is there a trick to closing the trailer?
