Omg, PotP Rodimus makes Kingdom Rodimus look like a kid. I’ll always have a soft spot for that Rodimus, even if he doesn’t fit in with newer figures and has a lot compromises to his design. It was really cool to see HasTak tackle that specific design again.

Goodbye PotP Rodimus, you are now one with the Matrix.

 

I still like him, he looks really good, but yeah, he's quite a bit too short for my liking. He really should be the same height as Galvatron.

 

Or PvP didn’t receive them with his copy that was smuggled out.

 

That is pretty much everything a good rodimus needs to be.

 

Its difficult to describe but the hands are sturdy & have some flex to allow it to come in and out. Its not something I would worry about breaking at all  

 

Amazing review and figure! Man ER Prime looks dusty compared to this guy. Bring on Commander class prime!!!! When is he out again? I hope we get him a month early!

Well, that settles it on the whole "oh, he's mistransformed in vehicle mode" thing. He's not. Not exactly the best-looking vehicle mode, but my gosh everything else works out great.

I love his transformation. I did not expect half of it. At first, I got DX9 Carry vibes out of the chest transformation, then the arms just spin around and the rest made me all "bruh"... It's surprising. They could've gone the cheap and easy route and oversized SS86 Hot Rod, but they didn't, they built this thing from the ground up and threw some curveballs in to boot.

I'm now getting antsy waiting for him. NAO.

The more I see of Rodimus, the more convinced I am that he is actually worth it, and the altered transformation scheme sells that. Sure it's basically the ss one but the ss one was great as well. And I legit thought those hands were on ball joints at first, you can definitely get him into some cool poses.

 

This picture pretty much confirms my issues with this figure and why I will be sticking with getting POTP Rodimus

 

But.. why? I don’t mind what preferences people have, I’m just interested to see why other people prefer the POTP version.

 

Looks good, but not good enough to pick up at the commander price.  Would be an easy snag at leader price though.

 

Size, probably. Which, you know, fair enough.

 

@PrimeVsPrime quick question for you, can any WFC figures fit into Rodimus’s trailer once you remove the turret? And if so, which ones?

Thanks for the video review! The main Rodimus figure looks like serious quality. Very happy with this.

But those ports on the inside of his trailer do hit me with the tiniest bit of trypophobia.

 

@UnethicalVoxel is correct. I have explicitly stated many times before that when it comes to scale in my collection, I prefer Masterpiece/Prime Wars Leader or bigger/close to it.

Since Kingdom Rodimus is far smaller than POTP Rodimus he’s too small for my sense of scale and thus I’m still getting POTP Rodimus instead
