Well, I said I'd love to be wrong but didn't think I was. This settles it. What we see is what we get.

I still think the figure is awesome personally and will absolutely be getting him. This is the first functional trailer Rodimus Prime since G1 other than the Masterpiece, and I am more than happy with it.

Sorry for those who are disappointed that the outcome wasn't different. Realistically, we could tell it wouldn't be, though. (Not trying to say I told you so. Just calling a spade a spade.)

For specifity's sake, these are the images that seal the deal and make it clear with finality that the spoiler doesn't move and that he can't collapse further:



That said, with our first full on side profile, it also doesn't look anywhere near as disproportionately long as it did from other angles imo.


Roddy's alt model was long and flat. Not this long and flat, maybe, but still. Close enough for my money. Your mileage may vary. To each their own. I'm pleased.

 

If you zoom in on the diorama photo, where rodimus is standing in front of the box, the opening looks hollow all the way back to the slit end where the final goes in. If the final can get cut off i thi nk it go further in.

 

I do wish he could go back just even a half inch further, but you are right that some angles really exaggerate the elongatedness of the cab.

Everything else about him more than makes up for it though, and it’s not like mine will spend much time in vehicle mode.

 

Try it out and tell us how it works out.  

 

Everything looks great, all my money go bye-bye. Wish I could justify the cost of that new Prime to myself, but I think I'm gonna skip him.

 

We should have got the guy to show us the underside. If there was a gap between the box wall and the back of the car. Working out away to cut off the fin would make it work. It will have to reduce in price. But I will buy it and cut the fin off

No, because we all know that the back of the car is too high to go back anyway (the recess area is blocking it and also the spoiler issue... which has been going for pages after pages), I talked about this ages ago so I won't repeat it again.

 

I have the G1 of Rodimus and I was tempted to get this one but that face sculpt looks like he is constipated.  

 

And just in case anyone is still thinking it's remotely possible, to put a final nail in the coffin, note this ledge beneath the slot for the spoiler:



And note how said ledge perfectly aligns with where the upper back of the car starts:

This is Rodimus' transformation. For better or worse. I'm pleased personally as I said, but I understand and respect that some are not. To each their own.

I just wanted to definitively lay this question to rest.

Edit to add side note: Just my opinion of course, but I think the face sculpt looks better in these new pics than we initially saw, too.
