Yes, I fully understand what you're saying. But again, even if we assume you're correct and it can slide back that small amount further and that it isn't a perspective difference, where does the spoiler go if sliding back more than that? The implication being made is that because (if) that joint being concealed means it can slide back further, then it can slide back even further than that as well. But there's literally only millimeters available to the spoiler to slide back further (if that.) Again, it isn't on a slide or other joint that allows it to collapse. It's fixed.

I don't think he's saying that the spoiler goes further into the trailer rather the spoiler moves forward allowing the cab to go further back. But that brings up what others have wondered, which is: where is the cab moving back into since many have noticed there's nowhere for it to go?

That's the thing, though. There is zero indication the spoiler can move forward. And even in the example they offered contending that the car is moved back more (assuming the joint appearing covered isn't just a perspective shift,) the spoiler hasn't moved. So there's nothing to suggest it can. It appears to be totally fixed. And if it is, and it can't go back further, then... ?

    Accept it.

That's the proper transformation. Whoever designed it just didn't give a shit.

It is NOT going to "slide back in" any more than we've seen.

If you think it will, you're going to be sorely disappointed. My suggestion is to buy an extra and chop it up and make a permanent alt mode with the cab in its proper place. You'll have to cut the car in half, but it'll work. Maybe.

My point wasn't really about whether the joint being more concealed is perspective or legitimately due to the cab moving back slightly more. I'm just saying that in either case, that still doesn't account for where the spoiler would go if it moved even further back than that. That's the problem.

Unless the spoiler can indeed move forward, which there's no indication that it can (how would it? Are people imagining that it parts-forms off, or that there's an amature, or what?) then there's nowhere for it to go if the cab can collapse into the trailer further. We'll see of course, but I think it's extremely clear this is the final transformation. A few millimeters to hide that joint isn't going to change it (and, indeed, if that's possible we already see what it looks like in that picture.)

None of this is to say anything critical of the alt mode, mind you. I'm super happy with it myself. I just don't see it being able to move back further.

I think you are right! The pictures of the alt mode are not consistent. + what about the little tab near the 5mm hole? Maybe this element is necessary to connect the cabin to the trailer...

Anyway, I hope the cab can go further in the trailer but if it is not the case, that won't stop me from buying it ;-)

Nah, that tab is for robot mode.
Glad you like the alt mode as-is :)

Yes i like this Rodimus. Sure, the cabin is a bit too long in this configuration, the only point in balance for me BUT ... What a powerful action figure, isn't it?

    What is the tab for?

I think it just ends up being on the side under the flap

I believe it’s this part. It folds up when going from car to bot.
(And don’t get me wrong, I’d love it if the cab slid further back. But I don’t think it does).

    ...I’m still buying two.

Ah I see, don't be so sure all that has to happen is the spoiler could slide forward, we have no pics showing the connection to the cab, so we don't know.

For the tab i mentioned, i think now @lord ginrai and @Alottamatteo are right. We can see a small tab-hole behind the 5mm hole that connects to the tab.

But, that doesn't mean the battle for the perfect alt mode is finished ;) . I still hope the cabin can go further.

I feel like the alt. mode question is done. Is there any precedence of FigureKing photos being mistransformed? My feeling was it's always been a super reliable source in that regard, but I could be wrong.

I think the fact that we've seen two different pictures with varying degrees of insertion means the question still stands.

Note the spoiler is in the same position while it has been pushed further in.
