The alt mode may be off model, but I'm with you. Besides, I doubt most of us display in alt mode and the robot mode is wonderful.

I am so glad that they went with a true Rodimus Prime and didn't try to make a gimmick of him changing from Hot Rod to Rodimus.

 

Bold of you to assume retail will stock any Commanders

 

after seeing more pics, definitely not a "must have" compared to SS86 Hot Rod. the face sculpt is similar to the G1 cartoon, but just looks so old, like Kup. The alt mode is not that impressive.

I will get it when its on sale. I did get Jetfire for 10% off and Sky Lynx for 25% off (Target in-store), patience is the key.

 

glad someone said it. That would be a terrible move for hasbro just from the perspective of the money it would cost. That cost would inevitably fall on the consumer and basically throw gasoline on the already raging dumpster fire that is the opinions of radically emotional people on some of these discussions

Brings him close, if not a bit taller than Optimus but I think Magnus will still be taller. Why didn't they make Rodimus a leader(of the autobots) and Magnus (city)commander class? Looks good and will buy it day one cause I'm at a scalper region and he won't shelf warm lol.

 

Looks great, I like the sizing. And the Trailer doesn\'t look like just a cheap 2 dollar box of plastic

 

If height equaled price point then ROTF and Animated Lockdown would be voyagers.

 

I’m pretty sure they are the same as the omega ones because one was showed in a photo earlier, just blue colored so they look like matrix effects but still, pretty badass looking,

 

And more people would've been happy if the Commander class slot was filled by either StarSaber, Deathsaurus or even Thunderwing.
But I'm willing to bet that next year's Commander will just be another damn Powermaster Optimus instead.

Anyway, if Hasbro wants a lot more of our money for Rodimus then they'll have to release one without that $50 trailer like I said before. No big deal though, since our money can go elsewhere if not.

People also need to factor in the use of the mold... Prime was kicked down to leader level because they could sell him as a Netflix figure, shattered glass, nemesis, dead prime, and about 32 other recolors, making the mold less expensive in the long run. Rodimus has one use... Rodimus. Maybe two with the shattered glass version. It’s not all parts count, it’s also mold viability for other figures.

Especially not anymore, now it's part count, plastic quantity and number of pinned parts.

Not to mention how many different molds they might have used for different sprues rather to possibly avoid what happened to hot rods roof.

Lots of things add to cost.
