You know I may not be that interested in Commander Rodimus at all, but I really hope he sells well.

Cause if he does, it might convince HasTak to bring another character out of Financial limbo for Commander Class.

Have you taken a moment to consider that the car mode itself can transform a bit to accommodate that? Especially with that commander class parts budget.

I want a GRAND MAX about the size of Jet Fire. That would match up with the powermaster version of Optimus Prime combined with god bomber that Takara Did.

 

Perhaps, say, the back of the "cab" can unfold out a la G1 Roddy's legs.

 

Im pro-mistransform but I hadnt even considered that! that is a genuine possibility as well, and it could also hide the extra set of wheels

Nope wait, if we use the black double hinge thats meant for transformation, it would cover up the windsheild so thats out of the question. But you do bring up a good point. who's to say that it doesn't act like mp-09 and have its own transformation to attach to the trailer

 

For a company that's been nailing the Geewon aesthetic the whole trilogy why in God's name would they whiff if on there most expensive piece? It makes no good sense so has to be mistransformed.

Well Target had my Skylynx for $70 so I suppose it is indeed good for me.

 

Obviously the real reason was just "they were making it up as they went along" but as a headcanon you could say that unlike Hot Rod, Optimus was already the perfect warrior, so the Matrix decided he didn't its power. Meanwhile, Hot Rod wasn't physically powerful enough, so the Matrix lends him its power, making him Rodimus Prime.

Here I set OP handle to 5mm and let the software calculate sword handle. This would indicate Kingdom Rodimus will be similar size as POTP Rodimus (at least for bot mode). This seems too big but the matrix also looks really small in his hands.

 

I'm almost certain Rodimus will be the same size as Kingdom Optimus...but with a more robust trailer and accessories that justifies the extra $30.

 

The problem here is that you're comparing things in the foreground versus things in the background. At this level of margin of error it really matters, even though the depth of field isn't seemingly that great. (But it is.)

Try to choose something on both the torsos, and something you can measure vertically, to avoid depth stretching.

 

I totally agree man, I think at this point we're better off waiting until there's pics of the two next to each other because this could go on forever.
