Seems like there is such a thing as too much G1 even for G1 fans.
This announcement was from Takara Tomy and pre orders went up on the 10th at most major Asian market retailers.
If you’re waiting for Hasbro’s announcement of this toy (and more Kingdom) and North American retail pre orders, then get comfortable. There’s nothing planned currently.
i think the issue is we use the same terms for multiple things. every single combiner wars limb works the same way but can you class them as retools or just shared engineering ? earthrise starscream is the classics mold made bigger with more complexity similar to this.
to be honest if they actually just upscaled the ss86 hot rod changed the windscreen and head and made attachments for a trailer that transformed into a fantastic base (maybe in the akom colours) i think we'd all call this amazing.
when comparing the base figure to the ss86 its apples an oranges i think the only real issue is the trailer and its attachment to the vehicle personally i was imagining something like the 2011 thundertank with a standard version underneath an extra expandable base
Would have been awesome.
Are we literally at the point in this thread where we have some people still insisting that this is just an upscaled SS86 Hot Rod while other people complain that it's not?
I'm buying it. Set aside $80 six months ago when it leaked and nothing has changed my mind. I just had no idea how CONTROVERSIAL this figure would be.
I question the necessity of the emojis given the characters expressions are clearly visible.
Especially since even if HasTak HAD done that, Rodimus' body is pretty much just an upscaled Hot Rod.
In any case, I'm with you. I'm totally getting this guy. It looks great. There's nothing I don't love.
Until Siege, I have never "needed" to modify any figure.
And starting with Siege, it was not about modifying it either, it was to finish what Hasbro shouldn't have done, it was to fix the gaps, the lack of accessories and such parts, the missing paint.
I know many will do amazing stuff and rebuild parts and such, which is beyond me for now (one day I'll get a 3d printer) and that's a different game altogether.
I've said it a lot... name a figure and I will state what's wrong with it, what should have been done better as 99% of every complaint is related to something that Hasbro was either cheap with or just appears to not care enough to do it right...
Plastic quality, lack of articulation (that most would be so freaking easy to do at no cost (or very little), the gaps, and the lack of accessories.
I did a lot of that with past figures. I've modded figures long before Siege came out.
And yes, we can all name a figure and state what's wrong with it going all the way back to G1.
Classics BB has plenty of kibble and is quite a bit chunky. They were going for a cleaner look with Earthrise.
O didn't put much work or thought in
Just a few seconds no effort meme lol
1) This is not terrible.
2) Its engineering IS pretty derivative of the SS86 Hot Rod. That's not a bad thing on its face, but I suspect some deja-vu in handling this guy and it makes me less excited for him.
3) $80 is not ludicrous, but at that MSRP, I might be tempted to spend an extra $40 for DX9's Carry instead.
Love the look of this. THIS is how Rodimus should look. A beefy, takes no crap from Galvatron bot.
c\'mon, Hastak! It\'s time for Masterpiece Rodimus 2.0!
Just gonna leave this right here...
I agree that parts forming sucks, but aside from G1 and MP, this is the first mainline Bee figure that is a VW beetle, and looks G1 accurate, or at least as accurate as a deluxe figure can be.
Still better than the panel mess the MP is. I'll take the parts formed back pack. Lol.
That Photoshop has been posted here before. It would look so much better this way (except for the doubled up pipes)
Taking a closer look of the new image, we can get a closer look at the sliding hubcap. My thoughts are that its purely for aesthetic. To make the arm look slimmer at first glance, rather than kibble management as the rest of the wheel is left behind. I think that the wheel could rotate inward like a car with ruined suspension (or Seige primes tires), slide the hubcap up, and then rotate the wheel back so its straight while simultaneously tabbing in the hubcap to the arm. Just a neat litte quality of life addition imo
I would buy that.
Can I just say that I'm way more interested in how this is playing out than the Rodimus discourse? You two are COMMITTED. Whoever ends up being able to dispose of those Classics will be the victor to end all victors.
Just get Carry instead. I do not regret it,however I'd regret buying this new Rodimus
I'm relieved I didn't but that awful POTP Rodimus and I was hell bent on getting it,but somehow missed buying and will continue to do so.
