Oh yeah, whoever said it looked like his MTMTE version was WAY off - this is definitely much closer to his G1 look. Mistransformed too, it seems!

But eh...still looks like a fun figure. And unlike the FOC Whirl, he's blue!

I'll wait with a real judgement until we get to see him properly transformed, but so far he's slightly disappointing, but still good enough for me to get. :)

Bull. Hasbro can squeeze a remould out of whatever they want.

He's not bad, I just think the callout for a MTMTE whirl got everyone's expectations up. I'll probably get him but I really hope he's mistransformed in that picture. At least his head looks rather MTMTE-ish.

Since when did repaints dictate how a mold should look? Especially in this day and age where they can remold the hell out of everything?

Wow, considering the original Whirl's "different" design, with no real hands and a lanky body... I'm amazed they've made a toy that's so faithful.

    It's awesome! :)

Considering MTMTE's design is a lot more spindly and would be much more difficult to realize as a fully stable transforming toy, this will do nicely, I'd wager.

A proper MTMTE Whirl probably wouldn't pass the drop test.

But hey, logic. I should get that weak shit outta here, huh? :lol

Looks horrible. The arms are just solid, ugly chunks of alt-mode with no real "arm" shape to them, the torso is too thick and too long, the toes are almost nonexistant, the shoulders have run off, and the elbows make it look like his arm is broken.

Well it makes sence from a buisness prespective. Since economy is shit I don't think Hasbro would be willing to make a new mold without thinking about how many characters they can the squeeze out of it.

And this Whirl look fairly like a generic helicopter transformer so they can pull more character from him. Like I said give him a new head and maybe a tail and vola it's Rotorstorm.

I mean I'm as disappointed as you guy for at least not getting the Stormbringer osprey Whirl but at least it's a new Whirl that looks like Whirl...even if it's just the ******ed G1 brick with articulation.

I honestly felt no need to get this guy. Couldn't have given a shit before. Now I'm all like "ooh, must have"

What a difference a picture makes.

Incredibly disappointing, especially after being told it was based on the MTMTE design. That's basically the G1 mold given more articulation and a MTMTE head.

I was hoping for IDW Whirl myself...there's a good chance I'll still buy it though. I'll wait for better pictures.
