I like the colors, they look bolder than the first release, but I don't think there is that much of a difference between this one and the original to really sell well for Hasbro.

At least not when there are multiples still sitting on shelves in the local discount stores around here.

Not much of a repaint, but on the plus side at least this way I have no strong obligation to pick it up which should save a few bucks.

You know what he looks like?

    A prototype or test shot.

I definitely prefer my original over that.

It makes sense to keep Optimus Prime out there, and a slight repaint is one way to do that. OTOH, *I'm* not buying it! And I'm hoping this doesn't affect the availability of Metroplex!

Hmm. I agree that it's too close to the original. The black looks nice, too bad they couldn't have found a color to replace the red.

    I'll be passing on this.

Pass. I already have his first colors, and I intend to keep it that way.

For some reason, I just don't think any Optimus Primes should be repainted...unless it's gonna kick ass like RiD Scourge or Armada Nemesis Prime, but I'm tired of black Prime repaints.. I'll pass on this...I agree with all of you...it's too close to the 1st one.

    Quoted for truth.

I mean, it's a nice paint job and everything, but was it really necessary? The colours are not far removed from the original, and Prime is a very expensive figure. I couldn't afford him the first time around, and I'm still not going to be able to buy a repaint, no matter how underwhelming it is.
