Yea and the brand would be dead if they didn' make a movie
I wish we could, but mama Hasbro clearly favours those easiest to please. Nothing personal. The rest of us expect quality in exchange for our support.
Nope, you can thank kids who emptied their wallets time and time again for the Unicron Trilogy for the movies. Money you spent in the 80's for a franchise that took a dive shortly thereafter did not fund films that came out 20 years later.
No, without G1 fans we wouldn't have Peter Cullen on the big screen.
Without the movies the brand would of been dead for a long time
One of the biggest toy brands of all time? Hahaha, is that what mama Hasbro told you to say? The movies saved nothing but Michael Bay's and Lorenzo diBonaventura's wallets.
Well it\'s abut time we got some news! Things have been so dry, driving me crazy lol glad to see something despite it not beng major
Tell me what would of happen after the unicron trilogy
Can't wait to see your video hope you do one
See: late G1 decline
See: G2 and MW failure
See: Universe 03 decline
See: UT decline
See: profits for live action films, which also got the Classics line started, which is a big seller
Where's the Bayverse decline with TLK?
And which of these means that the Bayverse "saved" the franchise? The fact that every iteration gets its lifespan and therefore the franchise, like any other, has periods of decline, hardly makes the Bayverse a "saviour". Especially if you're a fan of the fiction.
We could have gotten great movies after UT. And great cartoons. Or nothing. Is there a point to such an empty hypothesis other to justify a bad decision (i.e. "it could have been even worse")? You don't justify something bad by a hypothetical worse.
Transformers was a dying franchise. It was a household name in the 80's and then faded out. Hell, there's still a widely held belief that the Bayverse is the first version since the 80s. That's how little it meant to the general public between G1 and the movies.
Notice how I left out Beast Wars, which was a rousing success all the way through. But in general, the lines were doing worse and worse until the solid UT, but even that started to fade.
No that was Beast War's I believe
And that's absolutely fine, no issue from me except they are poor versions and stereotyped watered down and poorly written, and bogged down in screenplays filled with exposition.
I wish we could snokoan. But I am actually insulted by dragons ignorant sneering comments.
Guy just doesn't get it. I'm not anti new stuff, I loved Unicron Trilogy TF Animated, and especially TF Prime. But comments like his don't help
Also your forgetting the TF 86 Movie was a smash on home Video
It seems a lot of people misunderstand my stance. I like the movies. But I also recognize that there is a difference between liking them and thinking they're good.
I would love brilliantly-written and directed films as much as anyone else. You won't see me defending them as masterpieces of cinema. You'll only see me defending things that can accurately be defended, and correcting misinformation.
Are the movies good? Absolutely NOT.
Did they revive the franchise and provide relevance it had never seen before? ABSOLUTELY.
I won't ever argue with you on that first point, but I'll always correct misinformation on the second point.
Not a bad design, nothing breathtaking either.
It does look somewhat like a retro-ified and very, very slightly G1-ised version of his typical Bayverse head... So I suppose it'll do. Stays in continuity with other movies.
Apparently people say he has his horns but I don't see them
