Don't like Sonic Wolf that was seen in other pics, but the leaked gameplay video looks great.

I don't know. Those graphics actually look like just abit much for the Wii.

I read online that it is, and since it's on the Internet, it must be true.:lol

If not, I hope they do a second Sonic and the Secret Rings type game for the Wii. That was way better then Sonic 2k7.

EDIT: I just read on Penny Arcade that one of the images is "supposedly" linked to the EU Official Nintendo magazine, so I'm guessing the Wii will probably get a toned-down graphics version.

Most definitely. You would think that after Sonic was in Brawl that Sega and Nintendo would be all BFF now. To make a 360/PS3 Sonic game seems kind of like a slap in the face. Even just making a Wii version with inferior graphics and different controls (always the possibility of being better) seems a bit like a slap.

    2D Sonic gameplay = FINALLY!

However, the environments are way, way too "realistic". Sonic looks really out of place.

I've known about this since Saturday when the sonic community was in blaze with trying to figure out if the screens were a prank or not(There have been some good ones on April 1st in the past) for April Fools, though when we all saw the video we were thrilled and I've bee psyched for the game ever since. I think this is just what the series needs, they've learned that all they need to be successful is use the Rush style of making games and improve/expand it a little bit.

That's exactly what I was thinking... a 2D Sonic... with 3D backgrounds..now if they could adopt that for a new next-gen Castlevania.

Don't know, never played it. It's similar to Sonic Rush on the DS.

Like Klonoa and Pandemonium on PS1 and 2, it seems. But for Sonic's style, it fits well.

Yeah! I REALLY want them to bring back spiky plants and checkered blocks!

The level art, design, and funky music of the Sega Games is what makes Sonic feel like Sonic to me, but a new 2d game is awesome nonetheless.

Excellent idea! I'm so tired of the same old pseudo RPG every Castlevania game is now. The last great Castlevania game was 4 on the SNES, IMHO.

hmmm, it doesn't seem like it shows enough of the gameplay area to allow you to change where you're going. looks a whole lot more like it's on rails than the original sonic games were.
