On July 19, 2009 the very first German Transformers Fan Convention took place, the C.O.N.S., in Viersen near the Dutch border. Transformers Fans from Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Britain gathered and had lots of fun. With over 150 visitors and 18 dealers the convention did pretty good for a first-time event and a follow-up for 2010 is already in the planning stages. You can find a full report and many pictures of the event here: New Transformers Archive - C.O.N.S. 2009 - The Report and here: Transformers Universe The Web's Greatest Bi-Lingual Transformers Site - Auch fr Deutsche Fans Cheers, Philip (aka Philister)
If it would have been larger and they could effort more advertising for that, it could have been more recognized. Advertising is the key. And it should be more appealing by the conventions presentation itself. It doesn't look like I would imagine a convention But the Idea is somehow cool. But as I'm no collector (although I often think about buying Classics Prime, Classics Rodimus, Classics Galvatron and Classics Megatron because they look so cool... and much more like I wished my toys would have looked back then...), it seems to be only a small group of people, where you cannot disappear in an anonymous crowd, I would have felt misplaced. Maybe other people feel the same. Anyway: If people keep up working on that convention, it might get bigger by and by. By the way: Viersen? Does anyone know a guy calling himself Xell Tremox?
We do plan to get bigger, don't worry. But for a first time event we did pretty well, I think, only missing the first Botcon by about twenty-seven people.
