    It's probably a little premature to be posting any pictures, but I've been really excited to be working on my first custom figure and thought I'd share the WIP. I've had this idea for quite a while, and finally decided to take the leap into doing a custom of my own. The idea? A Soundwave Combiner, using some of his army of tapes as limbs. The lineup is as follows:

    Powerglide -> Laserbeak
    Fellbat -> Ratbat
    Rook -> Rumble
    Mirage -> Frenzy
    Onslaught -> Soundwave
    Smokescreen -> Ravage

    Naturally, I've begun with the core of turning Onslaught into Soundwave. So far, I've got the arms completed and started last night on the legs. This is going to be a pretty long process to get this done, especially with how particular I am, but it's been a lot of fun already and can't wait to share more as it happens.

    nice! only thing i'd change is having the frumbles share a mold but that's just me. maybe buzzsaw from powerglide so the combiner can dual-wield? ;)

    I know the OP mould would have been a more obvious choice, so I'm interested to see what you can make of this! Good luck!

    Thanks so much everyone for the kind words and encouragement! :D

    I had actually considered using the same mold for those two, and in a way still am to be honest. It's still a thought process in the works and I have time considering I haven't started the limbs yet (and it won't mess up my secret pattern with mold choices either.) So, there's a chance this may still happen! As for Buzzsaw, I actually have plans afterwards depending on how well this goes to do even more of his cassette army, so that could end up being a thing!

    Haha, that's great! Funny enough, the combined mode name is something I have yet to figure out, so any suggestions are welcome ;)

    Very tight paintwork I'm seeing so far.
    If you have the money to spend, I would be inclined to suggest that you get the Liokaiser box set so you can use the (H)Fellbat head for RatBat, and use either two Rooks, Hounds, or Swindles for Rumble and Frenzy (since they're twins, and they have those poundy fists).

    Just off the top of my head, for a combined form name: Decibel

    Your paintwork is significantly more professional than mine. Mine was nearly complete, but the third mode didn't quite turn out the way I had hoped, so I'm almost back to square one. I'm excited to see how yours will turn out!

    I purchased the set and plan to piece out some of the limbs, if you're interested in Fellbat for this very reason.

    Interestingly enough, that's exactly the reason I opted for rook as my choice for Rumble because of that bulky, "poundy fist" look he has. For my own personal reasons, mainly the secret mold pattern I chose, I don't want to use the same figure twice. There's the possibility I could go with Rook and Hound though, so that's an idea I'll keep in mind as I get further along.

    I like the idea of Decibel! But, there is already a Decibel character, and amusingly enough a "combiner" of two cassettes too haha.

    I really appreciate the compliment on my paints so far, (professional? :eek: ) especially when this is the first time I've ever done custom work! I hope you're able to get past any roadblocks and I'd love to see how yours comes out when you finish!

    If you're not planning to use Fellbat for anything, this idea you and ironscythe bring up is a great suggestion! I've never replaced a head, but I'd be willing to give it a shot for this as that would definitely look great for Ratbat.

    Finally had some time to get that leg pretty much done, I think it turned out exactly how I imagined it. Now to get more paint and move on to leg two, and then the real fun part of the body shall begin!
