So the 2007 set takes place after Marvel G1 instead of Marvel G2.

2010 set takes place after Rebirth in the US continity, which itself is splintered in Japan.

True about the '08 set, but the initial reaction was far from positive. It was only AFTER the Club decided to take the more silly "halfway-April-Fools'" route that it became more popular. Although I loved them, the actual figures themselves didn't tickle too many peoples' fancy, except perhaps evil Rodimus because of the goatee.

I wouldn't go so far as to say the '09 set was a turd, but I do think that compared to FP's other sets besides Descent Into Evil, it came out at the bottom of the bunch. It didn't have enough of a theme to it, and too many of the homages were merely okay-at-best (not entirely FP's fault, of course).

 

well, unless i see a figure with a very schnazzy g2 redeco that i like, i wont be very sad that i was forced to skip botcon this year.

 

Kanye West will probably want this as much as I do. I like it enough to buy.

 

i'm already sold on the set and plan on getting a loose set as well and convincing my friend who's going with me to get a box set for me as well.

g2 will always have a special place in my heart for rekindling the toyline and letting me get some figures i missed out on during g1 .

can this year get any more awesome?

 

 

Looks... Interesting. Seriously. All "neon" and "light bright" references aside, I'll be patiently waiting until the others are revealed, but I might just spend some cash on the set this year.

Ah, thanks. I deleted my post because I neglected to use the internet to find the answer beforehand. Spark renamed as Pyro in G2 with no changes to the original mold. Makes sense.

 

As someone who came into the fandom through G2, I whole heartedly approve the theme for this year's Botcon! C'mon FP, give me some more G2 lovin'.

 

i think we won't be getting stuff like black sideswipe or blue girmlock, but getting characters that normally wouldn't get new toys (ie g1.5 and g2 only characters)

 

Personally I quite like it! I kinda like G2. Some of it was terrible, but some of it was great. I'm not looking forward to seeing the rest of them though. I don't want to be tempted into spending the money. I probably will though.

So there's a lot of hate going on for the G2 color scheme and lots of people claiming they will be passing...

.... so this set will sell out before non-attending folks can get one. Seems no matter how much complaining, people will still buy this just to turn a profit.

 

How can that possibly be a firetruck when all it does is burn those that look at it?
