For use of MA-29 Rei
That's how they're being marketed, yeah...
...although they also encourage painting the figures, which nobody in their right mind would suggest for erasers.
You'd experience less criticism if you actually opened and assembled your BOSS figures, photographed them with more common Transformers to establish a sense of their scale, or at least stopped posting the same damn picture...
Okay, heads up: this next one's coming WAY out of left field.
Presenting Takara Beast Wars C-18, Powerhug.
His depiction in media is compelling:
His alt. mode is impressive:
His spring-loaded gimmicks are effective:
His play value is self-evident.
His robot mode is deplorable.
Basically, his arms are locked in a curled position, either hugging an unseen object...
...or spread wide and inviting, with just enough dangling between his legs to resemble a pervert in a trenchcoat.
This is why I don't collect Beast Wars, kids.
Seriously, what creepy sicko came up with this creepy sicko?
This is why I love Beast Wars! (especially Japanese Beast Wars toys!)
That dude looks Sentai as fuck.
Now that's sold me on him
I love how everything about this toy just says "To heck with it. We know this is stupid and we're going with it."
I can just imagine Takara's meeting:
Boss: "Okay team, Hasbro just sent us this 'Retrax' mold."
*shows 90s equivalent of a PowerPoint slide*
Development team: "...."
One guy: "LET'S CALL IT POWERHUG."
Boss: "...I quit. This project is yours."
Guy: "AND COLOUR HIM LIKE COTTON CANDY."
Ex-Boss: *flips table*
Guy: "Looks like somebody needs a POWERHUG."
I'm pretty sure PowerPoint came out in the 90s.
Also I like that Boss progresses to Ex-Boss.
I didn't hear about it until I started high school in 2008, so what do I know?
Oh man, that's the year before I GRADUATED high school.
I feel old.
Not as old as some of us feel now.
Class of 97' here!
No coming to the rescue this time, one of the handful of Beast Wars era figures that I don't own....
now that's when I started high school
Feeling even older...
Graduated high school in '96, college in '00.
Am I really the only one among us in his 40s?
I'm feeling a little better now.
I just turned 23 last month. Here's a weird feeling: I work at a restaurant, and one of our hosts is 15 going on 16. Okay, sure, she's young, but I feel like I was around that age not too long ago.
She was born in 2001.
I understand how math works but NO HOW ARE YOU NOT A BABY
And I had powerhug, but like the majority of my BW 2 and BW Neo collection, the box they were in was lost a move years ago
41 here, teke, you're not alone.
