How's this for a birthday present, Padre? You've reclaimed 2nd place from tekering with your latest play! I always prefer the presents we give ourselves, personally...

I’m #2! Time to celebrate! Well let’s keep momentum going. I don’t think a certain ONE will ever let me get the #1 spot back.

Damn, I knew I was pressing my luck. I know what I should have played. :ev:

side note, that size comparison right there is what made me not got the xtransbots route with the Stunticons.

:rock :buttrock  Sounds like a plan!

Gotta snipe those MP scale plays when you guys post them once in a blue moon. :D  Don't think you can sneak any of the 2019/2020 FT releases by me save for maybe Spindrift 2.0... it's just too small compared to the other mini-bots just like the XTB Stunticons. Kinda backed into G2 ones when they were originally con 'exclusives' but will end up using them as limbs with a G1 Menasor whenever XTB finally gets that trailer out.

I wonder how much more money and space I'd have right now if I started collecting a year later and got into legends scaled figs instead of MP.

Keeping on the Wei Jiang thread... here's Hide Shadow, their upscaled and improved SS Blackout.

    Engineering improvements included:
    • Articulated fingers
    • Gap fillers on the intake manifolds
    • The refuelling boom can compress and rotate/tuck into the body
    • Panels on inside of calves spring out during transformation
    • Feet have different molding
    • The butt flap/tail section can be removed...
And finally, some versions came with a panel to fill in the underbelly of the alt-mode that combines with the tail section to form a diorama for Scorponok!

I think on the recent play of MPP-10 it was clarified that if the KO has engineering changes, the original mold is no longer valid?

Here's an interesting rule in Section 3...
You can request either the figure itself or require the counter to have all accessories.

Does this mean I can request the counter to only be valid if Hide Shadow is shown with the underbelly diorama?

MPP-10, and Hide Shadow are both Upscaled KO’s by their own definition and can indeed be countered by the actual. They reason MPP-10 went on is because we were tired of the argument over what counters what. Anyway in my opinion Hide Shadow can be countered by SS Blackout. Yes Hid Shadow has a list of improvements, but it’s base is Blackout that has some mods. I would ask if any other ref agrees.

    Watch this...

Then he simply requests that Scorponok be included in the play, as it is part of the set, and the challenge is solidified - that Scorponok isn't a KO of anything.

IMO, WJ Hide Shadow is a stand-alone challenge as it is, but it can't be questioned if Skorponok is part of the play.

    I love rules! :D

Okay, engineering changes don't make KOs unique, but if I can find a pack-in accessory that's unique to it and play it with the figure...

Anyways, I do love that Hide Shadow... the size, the extra paint apps, and the diorama to turn some extra parts into something more interesting. It can definitely stand beside other MP figs and hold its own.

Is there a colour fade issue with it? Mine conveniently sits on a shelf away from the sun.

I’ve found that it doesn’t even matter if it’s sun or not, yellowing is inevitable. Funny thing is the sun actually bleaches things. It’s the Material glass is made of that filters the light that causes yellowing, or also plain old oxygen causes yellowing.

Yeah. I had pulled out some of my Legos a few weeks ago, which had spent the better part of two years in a closet, and quite a few of them had minor to severe yellowing.
