It's not about jealousy. (Okay, for some, it is.)

It's about how ludicrous the opening post is.

A grown man went to purchase figures he knew weren't supposed to be available for sale.
Even though it's the store's error for putting them out, he knows (like the rest of us) that Wal-Mart (and any store like it) have the RIGHT to refuse him a sale on anything in the store, for any reason, at any time.

Anything? Yes. ANYthing.
Any reason? Yes. ANY. (This one was legitimate.)
Any time? Yes. ANY. (This was also legitimate.)

Did he follow the rules like the rest of us and act respectable and responsible as a guest in the store? No. He didn't. (And you are there at their discretion. At any time, the store CAN have you removed.)

The first manager stuck to his guns and shot him down.
He bitched and moaned about it for at least an hour.
Went home empty handed, which is the correct thing to happen in this case.

Came back, same toys on the shelves, (an internal communication problem) and it pissed him off. (It would piss me off too, but I also remember that they're not for sale and if I was shot down for asking politely the first time, I damn sure wouldn't give it another go.)

He bitched and moaned to another manager who finally kissed his ass, bent over backwards to please him, and he not only got the sale he wanted, but she gave him $50.00 on a gift card for his "troubles" which he started himself. So, in essence, she not only gave him the business he wasn't entitled to, and could cost her her job...but she also paid for some of his toys, all because he ranted and raved like he was rabid.

It's not about jealousy, it's about the fact that he went apeshit insane over mistakenly stocked toys (like he's never made a mistake in his life? Please...) and not only got what he wanted, but was paid for it.

What he's doing is showing the rest of the people in the store, and us in the fandom, that it's okay to REWARD shitty and disrespectful behavior. He's a grown adult and knows damn well the difference between right and wrong.

He claims it was false advertising/bait and switch/whatever you want to call this mess, and he's right to a degree. The items are on the shelves, apparently for sale, so of course you'd try and buy them, it's only sensible. But his sale was refused. So yeah, at first glance, it looks like he was wronged.

Upon second glance, you realize that even if the toys are on the shelves, they cannot be sold until May 30th (and he damn well knew this going in, he was just planning all along to fuck it up so he could have his way, because oh no, he can't wait and be respectful. No. Not at all.) and the store's policy (in clear view, mind you!) states they don't have to sell it to him, but this time they actually had a legal agreement on their side stating he couldn't have them.

And he FORCED them to break it.

That's why his bragging of "I BEAT WAL-MART!" (which is akin to saying "I MADE POOPY" because it's not like it's the first time anyone's ever done that, oh no.) is not jealousy inducing, it's rage inducing, and it's well deserved.

Jealous? Ha! Fuck no.
