ok, if people didn't know already, in my area there is nowhere to buy comics...the closest place we got is Hastings, and they had just select dc comics and mostly just TPB of series....imagine my surprise to go into there to see a whole new comic section, they had tons of new comics AND TONS OF OLD COMICS! for about a dollar a piece, so i got me a few, what was cool the ones that had the price of $1.99 on it actually cost me $0.99

the spawn comic is a gift for my dad:

Has anyone found a place online other than eBay to pick up select back issues?

I was excited to see that IDW sells some issues straight from their webpage - but with shipping that costs more than the comic book itself. UGGG

I am actually lucky enough to live right smack in the middle of all of the New Dimension Comic book stores (they get some special edition covers made... New Dimension Comics: For Sale) but they don't have everything. I need a few issues and its starting to get frustrating to find them.

Mile High Comics is pretty good for back issues, and the frequently have decent sales. As with anything you buy online though, it'd be best to get several issues at once and pay one shipping charge rather than buying fewer issue on multiple occasions.

Atomic Avenue is good. Mile High Comics (way over-priced on some stuff). There's one more that I can't think of the name of but they helped me when I was finishing up my run of Invincible a few years ago.

Thanks for the tip on Atomic Avenue. I see a few of my dollars heading that way in the near future.

I've ordered several things from Midtown Comics and they always have good prices and cheap shipping. Mile High had some recent back issues (last three months) for TRIPLE the cover price while Midtown had then for 15% OFF cover. My local comic shop sucks. I've only recently started buying from a local guy who does mail order subscriptions...if he flakes out, I'll probably start subscribing there

OK, all you Minnesotans are gonna snag these out from under me, but I've found quite a few Transformers back issues (from the whole range, G1, Dreamwave, IDW, etc) at Half-Price Books... It's a crap shoot as to what you may (or may not) find, but I've picked up *MANY* back issues for a buck or two each... Even picked up a couple TPB's, Megatron:Origins and a bunch of the hard (and softcover) G1 & G2 TPBs for... uh, half-price (or less)!

Just leave a couple for me, eh?
