I've seen a lot of talk recently about what figures should be in the next Prime Wars line and beyond. For some figures, however, there is no need for an update as we have gotten a good enough figure to fit our needs of what is considered an "update." With that being said, what are some characters and/or figures that you do not think need an update? Here are a few of mine: Beast Wars Transmetal Tarantulas Beast Wars Fuzor Silverbolt RID Megatron/Gigatron Cybertron/Galaxy Force Optimus Prime What are your thoughts?
Classics Mirage, RTS Jazz, T30 Springer, CW Aerialbots, CW Stunticons, CW Technobots, CW Protectobots, CW Prowl, Generations Scoop and Orion Pax and all the TR Deluxes so far are definitive and "done" as far as I'm concerned. Aside the ones you've mentioned ( add TM Ratrap) , anything else is fair game.
I'm pretty content with the original mold figures from Car Robots/RiD. While I'd like to see Ruination and Brave Max updates, the Car Brothers, Train Bots, Fire Convoy, Gigatron, etc. are all as good as modern toys for me. I don't really collect Cybertron, but a lot of those molds seem fine as well. I'd love to see a few Beast Wars figures have improved retools ala Takara's Legends Optimus Primal as opposed to full updated new molds. I think there are a lot of them which were fine toys, but could use a few tweaks for proper accuracy.
Robotmasters Mirage Rts Windcharger CW First Aid CW Seekers Ocular Max Inferno Takara TR Hardhead CW Ironhide Foc Voyager Soundwave CW Jetfire Classics Blades CW Defensor Fansproject Stunticons Third party Terrorcons Generations Whirl Generations Warpath Device Label Tigatron Device Label Blaster TR Takara Blurr
You bring up one really good point in your post: RTS Windcharger was phenomenal, and to this day I'm baffled they didn't do a Tailgate from it.
All of windblade's toys please, and also stop trying to make mp galvatron a thing, it'll never happen in 5 years tops.
Generations voyager Springer Generations deluxe Arcee (if there really is gonna be a TR Arcee, I hope the alt mode is of cybertronian design) RtS Jazz Generations legends Cosmos
A large majority of the Beast Wars toys, at least at a mainline level. If they wanna keep doing MP Beasts, that's awesome, but for Generations, I consider those more replacements to figures that didn't necessarily represent the characters from the show all that well on my Beast Wars shelf (basically, I use Classics Dinobot, Rhinox, Rattrap, Waspinator, and Blackarachnia instead of their original figures). If we got a new Airazor, Scorponok, Terrorsaur, and Ravage, I think we'd pretty much be set.
Cybertron is show-accurate/toy-accurate to the point of absurdity, and the engineering still holds up very well. It'd have to be a significant improvement or change to get me interested, like making them in the MP style. Most of the Transmetals are pretty close, but I'd argue there's some wiggle room for improvement.
Anything tied to "G1" Scorponok!!! [insert boos, hissing, a person screaming "Vote Starscream!", and other actions that have people ignore his lack of seriousness in that statement] Kidding, kidding! Yeesh... My real answer is "Anything that requires the same type of gold plastic that was used from 1988 to 1996." [Am I speaking the truth? The world may never know.]
Gen. Arcee (aside from the "skirt" she is spot on!) RTS Jazz, Gen. Mirage, Hound, Prowl, Springer, TR Wheelie, the four main CW Combiners, Gen. Grapple and Inferno, Gen. Rhinox (mebbe do a more paint-detail release?) TR Galvatron, UNV Dinobot. To name a few.
