Totally forgot about the raiden project
So, can we take now that Armada Op as cancelled?.
What makes you think TakaraTomy puts out new mold projects at the whims of overseas fans?
Toy development takes time and money.
Transfans had this up too.
I really hope that Hoist is just a proto... the two greens look so different it clashes a lot.
The rest look good as before. But man, Soundbarrier is the most uncomplicated "transformer" of all times. He just basically lies down on his belly for transformation.
So I've been looking at the Hoist photos on TakaraTomy's Earthrise site, and I understand some of the color match problem. To start, it needs to be understood that Hoist's entire hood chunk in addition to the roof and windows seems to be made of clear plastic. So that's all painted surface where the rest of the green is plastic colors, of course. Some of the plastics seem to make a pretty good color match as depicted under less harsh lighting than that magazine spread. Not perfect, but pretty close. The problem is our eternal nemesis unpaintable plastic. Those nylon plastics have two strikes against them: They don't take color the same way as other materials do, and they usually photograph weirdly.
Even in person, Hoist's fists, the green half of the elbows, and maybe some of the vehicle side panels are going to look different from any of the other green, but it probably won't be as much as we're seeing in the photos. And the regular plastic used should be a closer match visually than what's being represented here. Granted, I'd prefer to not have a situation where so much paint was needed to compensate for huge masses of clear plastic, but as comparatively big as Hoist is, I'd assume they ran out of parts/material budget to do clear plastic "insert" elements for all the things they wanted to have clear, and drowning fewer pieces in paint was the next most budget-friendly option they had.
I wonder how Trailbreaker is going to turn out, given these material requirements...?
RAMP is looking good.
It's a nice group shot of figures.
Man the posing for Mixmaster is atrocious. Soundwave meanwhile looks like a real MVP.
Really impressed with the Earthrise stuff too. Why keep Siege when there's Earthrise?
i have to chuckle at takara because they've yet to correct the prime they are using, but cliffjumper definitely looks close to being a legends sized figure. anyone got pics of legends potp bumblebee to compare to siege prime?
Grey hands and yellow eyes. The plot thickens...
Hopefully that Earthrise shot helps the people trying to work out Cliffjumper's size.
At this point, I'm starting get antsy about seeing what else is in this line.
and blue elbows and the hitch completely on one leg rather than split. its the same iteration of optimus takara has been using for all of their pictures so its nothing new and its most likely an older iteration of the mold
I'm so down for a CW style Raiden
I'm sorry, I still really want that yellow-eyes Prime.
...i really like the new scales hasbro/takara have implemented across the war for cybertron line; they look great together...
...unfortunately, RAMP still looks stupid as ever...
time for an Overlord remold!
Earthrise figures look pretty good all together, the scaling on Cliffjumper really works well.
Very interested to see what this Raiden project is. :s
So we\'re getting Raiden.
