Dope man! I'm down to watch another version foSur! Thanks man! It just so happens I just preordered Grand Max and God Fire Convoy soon as they went up. I still don't have TR/Lgnd Fort Max, as I just bought a MISB /MINT IN SEALED BOX/ G1 FORT MAX in 2013. And its already SO. DAMN. BIG.!!! That I had it tucked under/at bottom of my 200PLUS LARGE UHAUL boxes all filled with toys in packaging still. Stacked wall to wall, in our warehouse. SO, it'll be some time before I get to HIM!   But hoping when I do, he'll be worth the full value (or more!) he was before the reissue. I figured if I cant get Takaras Legends Fort Max, the original will do... (I also have the reissue sealed as well next to him holding up the other side of that wall. I was smart with my Comicave Studios Optimus Prime and 3A DOTM Transformers, and kept those far from the bottom! There is no room in that crawlspace anyway! I call it a crawl space because it's so filled up u can't move!    

 

Buy Encore God Fire Convoy... you know you want too!  

 

Does anyone know whether or not this release of Fire Convoy will have rubber tires?

 

The original did, so it stands to reason this one will too.

 

Okay, so BBTS still has the Primemaster Pretender shell listed as coming with Grand Max, along with stock images. Is the shell actually still going to happen then, despite not getting to 3000? I thought TT was going to find another way to release it per their tweet or whatever...

Until I realized there's stock photos from TT of the Pretender shell...

Why would TT make those and solicit them if it WASN'T being included? Something is awry...someone is interpreting their communications incorrectly...I'm starting to wonder if it's not us?

 

BBTS put the Grand Max order up as soon as it was solicited. TakaraTomy Mall had pics of the shell, but said it was a stretch goal/pre-order goal. BBTS just used those pics.

 

This would be the only reason I would buy the set, just to replace the tires on the old chromed set

 

I know it was a stretch goal. But even TTmall still shows the Pretender shell as coming with the set in their photos...

Here's the quote:

"Bonus "Grand (pre) Tender Suit" was not reached to 3,000 of the number of targets included, received a request from everyone, reached the target number of 2000, commercialization has decided! Thank you very much for your many reservations. Please wait for the product delivery in March for a while now."

I take that to mean they received many requests for the shell. Some are speculating that "commercialization" means it will be made available some other way...but I'm wondering if the interpretation, also minding the fact that the shell is still prominently featured in all the rest of their solicitations...may, just may...indicate they still plan to go ahead with the shell anyhow as a pack in and we've been interpreting this statement incorrectly for awhile now. I know it's perhaps a stretch...but there seems to be some weird evidence indicating this is the case between the garbled announcement and the fact that pictures of the shell have not been removed...

 

I'm crossing my fingers, and hoping you could somehow be right.

 

I think the initial target for Grand himself was 2,000, and the bonus was 3,000. Betting that they're just saying 'commercialization decided!' in reference to producing Grand.

I'm just excited the Encore series is getting a resuscitation. Looking forward to some more Encore releases. And make 'em more frequent releases too.

 

Agreed, but looking at the lack of announcements after the God Fire Convoy set was put up for pre-order... you'd think they would have shown more by now, right? Gigatron? Black Convoy? Something not Car Robots-related maybe?

But so far, there's nothing. And it makes me a bit sad.

 

They probably have to see how God Fire Convoy does before announcing anything else.

Not that I think anyone else from Car Robots is very likely. I'm guessing being a popular Convoy from 18 years ago is what's prompting God Fire Convoy's Encore release. That and it's similarity to the 1984 / 1985 line up (realistic vehicles with rubber tires). Something akin to that has not been seen since (mass retail releases that try to recapture that Diaclone turned Transformers feel that is).

Yeah but...if it's stuff post-G2 era, I probably have the originals. And if it's pre-Beast Wars, it's going to need to be something I've never owned before in order for me to be interested. Wouldn't be surprised if I'm not alone in that sentiment, too.

 

Yup. Autobot leader character toys are popular. But tbh it was a pleasant surprise seeing God Fire Convoy in the mix. I'm totally buying him come March.
